Running down the street pavement with the already soggy newspaper over my head I saw my apartment find into view. Yes I knew not to exert myself but when someone like me sees rain I know what comes next.
Lightning
The thought alone scared me. As soon as I was in the confines of the building and away from the outside I went to dispose of the paper but something intriguing caught my attention. 'Curfew extended and still no results! can anyone contain the Reaper ' of course it'd make headlines the mayor knew what the killer's been doing to our town yet he hadn't done one thing to prevent it.
The ridiculous curfews weren't making a difference. Sighing to myself I threw away the ruined paper going into the elevator. The rain soaked through my entire outfit making it stick to me almost like a second skin. I grabbed my key out the disorganized bag turning the lock on my way inside to make sure I wouldn't forget doing it later.
Throwing down my bag on the floor I did a quick work of taking off my clothes and shoes. The bandaged part of my arm felt sore from the intrusion but it wasn't unbearable. Oddly enough the whole apartment looked cleaner than I left it this morning. My usually plain bed looked different from where I was in the dark.
Furrowing my brows I switched on the light blanching back in fear. My bed looked different, I should be used to it but I wasn't. Though it didn't seem as big a thing as the first time I noticed it slowly began to elevate.
For every thing I had in my house that had gone a little over its due mostly furniture and clothes were replaced a week after something else was changed. This bed looked bigger compared to the small bedroom and I liked it. The comforter was a deep golden color. My hand ran over the cover feeling it melt under my fingertips. A small note was attached written in beautiful cursive letters.
'That bed was far too uncomfortable for my taste, I thought this would've worked better. I had it imported just for you with an extra touch from me. Enjoy the gift love, I'll see you soon enough'
It didn't feel right accepting something I didn't earn which is exactly why after the fourth gift I stopped using any new and luxurious thing I didn't but with my own money or earn in hard labor. I didn't even know who the person was or how they came by the money to afford these luxuries.
Soon the smell from the left side of the bed had me shivering, I felt the need to jump in and snuggle up to it but my brain got the best of me so instead I went to my trunk under the bathroom sink and pulled out my blanket.
Moving quickly through the room I cracked the window just a little so the scent would air out. Tomorrow was a televised meeting with the mayor and I intended on getting the well needed answers to put the minds of those in fear at ease. My phone pinged grabbing my attention.
Unknown- sad enough I work day and night to give you the luxuries you deserve but you won't even look. How do you think that makes me feel.
I think it's best if I ignore it rather than fueling whoever it was on the line. Five minutes into 'Raising Hope' my phone pinged again. This time in much feverish typing.
Unknown- Do not ignore me Daneryis
My heart quickened. For my sake I hope it was some other Daneryis. A loud knock came from the door making me fall off the chair.
Calm down it's probably Dora next door borrowing some sugar.
I looked through the peephole but there's no one there. Rather than being that girl from the movies who goes out and calls 'hello' like an idiot I stay inside and mind my own business.
Making sure the locks are properly fastened o went back to the welcoming couch and blanket.
