Chapter 1: Wake Up, Make Up

Laura's POV
I wake up from my alarm; it's about 8 in the morning. I turn the TV on, and I watch the news.

The words are spoken from the reporter,
"The law regarding Vampire's discrimination being stopped, AKA 'The Vampire Protection Act', has been passed!"
I cheer! No more Human Only zones!

It cuts to DJ Quartz, giving a passionate speech about how Vampires are practically the same as humans, but they have to drink animal blood, as they consider human blood to be immoral to drink by force. How they can go out in the sun. She talks about the clan, Feya, that she was born in and it's rules. Her crimson red lipstick adds to her appearance, her coffee-coloured hair in a pixie cut.

She's beautiful. My phone rings suddenly, It's Jamie, one of my Vampire friends.
"Jamie! Are you watching the news?"
"Yes!" He replies,
I smile, "Are you going to Blood Drop?"
"Duh!"
"Ok! See you there!"

We say our goodbyes and farewells.

One hour later...

I check the Blood Drop website. It says that DJ Quartz will be there tomorrow and that it is still a safe area for Vampires, but humans are now allowed in! I order the tickets, and they're selling for cheap, to celebrate!

I grin. I realise that this will be controversial. But, I've already got the online ticket and email.

The ticket is emailed to my phone, so I can show it to the security before I get in.

I look in the mirror. My amber eyes, bleached blonde hair in a faux hawk, natural fair skin. I sigh. I can't compare to Quartz's beauty. Her pale skin. Her emerald eyes. Her brown pixie hair.

I put some eyeliner on, a little bit of eyeshadow, and an odd double toned blue and purple lipstick.

'Why is she so perfect?' I laugh a bit.

I walk outside.

The park is more green and almost neon. My eyes dart around. "Woah." I say. I smile. My shirt shines from the sun.

It looks as if the saturation of a picture was turned up.

It's warm. My honey eyes shine.

Tomorrow, DJ Quartz will preform.
