Quartz's POV
I'm falling.
Not in love, but literally.
A cliff passes me by.
Laura's not there.
In fact, she's on the cliff I fell off of.
A scream pulls out of my throat.
I cry.
I'm just about to crash into the ground.
And die.

I wake up suddenly. I'm in my bed. How did I get here? It's the afternoon. I look to the desk next to my bed. There's a note.
It says, 'Hey Quartz, you probably don't remember this but you gave me the keys to the house then fell asleep. The keys are next to here.'
I smile.

But I feel that instinct again.

Laura's POV

Embers.

Fire and blood.

I'm running.

All I did was help a girl.

Who I love.

I fall.

And give up.

I curl up and cry.

Well, I'm gonna die.

The flames begin closing in.

I text Quartz, 'I love you.'

And I breathe.

She can't find me.

Or rescue me.

Yeah.

I'm gonna die.

Quartz's POV

I run to the forest to the left, as there are two.

It's in flames.

Somehow I feel that Laura's already died to the  fire.

I cry out for her.

"Laura..."

'Quartz...'

I recognise that voice, first as a thought, then Laura.

I run.

I run so much.

Then I realise.

It's the wrong forest.

Both are in flames.

I race back.

But I'm too late.

The other forest is almost entirely destroyed.

I run into it, expecting to see a corpse.

I'm still running.

Finally I'm in the middle of the the forest.

"Laura?"

"Quartz!"

She looks perfect!

Well, she's actually quite tired.

"Laura, come with me."

She smiles.

We walk home.

I can finally breathe.

We're both ok.

We get home.

I kiss her. I remember that, this, is real love. I'm ecstatic. It's all calm. Peaceful.

You think that this is the end?

It's never that simple.

A car begins driving past. And it drives onto the path. And it hits me at full speed.

Laura's POV

She's falling.

Well, more like dragging against the floor.

She looks dead.

Dead.

Oh my god.

Is she alive?

Quartz's POV

White. I just see white. I see faces in it, then my eyes clear.

"I'm ok."

Then I see my mother.

I'm in a hospital.

"We heard about your little 'romance'."

I freeze.

"You must beat the Sire to stay together."

"In a fight?"

"Obviously, moron."

"You're insane."

"You fell in love with a human."

"You made me kill people."

"You broke the rules."

"Who cares?"

"Me."

"Anyone with a brain?"

"Go die in a fire."

"As long as Laura's there."

"I have no child."

She walks.

I cry.

Loudly.

Laura walks in.

"I love you." I say,
"I love you too." She smiles.

She kisses me.

As if to say, It's gonna be ok.

——————11 days later——————————-
I'm not slow.
I'm pretty fast.
I'm not weak.
I'm strong.
But everything's like jelly.
Good luck to me.
I guess.
Laura's kissing me.
I'm kissing back.
Well, It's more like we're fully making out with each other.
A loud punk rock song plays on speakers in the red and cyan training room I spent the last five days in.
There are TV screens broadcasting "QUARTZ FEYA VS SIRE ALEX FEYA!"
Does anyone know how much I love Laura?
A fight won't take it back.
Hell.
Not even a bullet shot could.

"Now is time for the fight!"
