"What?"
Suho asked in shock. Somin raised an eyebrow,
"Should I repeat myself since you didn't catch it the first time?"
The others laughed quietly at Somin's comment as Suho crossed his arms in a hostile fashion,
"Yun didn't have any children."
He stated flatly. Somin scoffed,
"None that anyone knew about. He kept me a secret to protect me. Although, I confess, I don't know what he was protecting me from. I always thought it was this life but he's always been preparing me for when I'll lead the Blackfall Dragons and control the Seoul syndicate. Did he say anything to you?"
This time it was Kris who answered,
"He made Suho and I swear to protect and assist you in the coming months. He said something about his past coming back to haunt him."
Somin furrowed her brow in thought,
"Strange. He never mentioned anything shady or dangerous to that extent in his past to me. Did he say anything else?"
"Only that his wife is dead too and that you have no honorable family left."
Somin thought for a moment before responding,
"My mother was killed seventeen years ago when I was five years old. Allegedly it was a car accident. Something malfunctioned and the engine exploded. It never sat well with my father. He knew something was wrong."
"How?"
Suho asked in confusion,
"Because my mother didn't drive, but yet her body was found in the drivers seat. That's all my father would tell me. Since he's gone now, I plan on going through his office and reading all of his files. Something is definitely not right and I'm not going to wait for the same fate to befall me. I know my father made you promise to help me, but if you don't want to that's okay. You can walk out that door over there and I won't stop you. Keep in mind though, this is the only opportunity you'll have to back down with no consequences. If either side wants to back down do it now."
Somin looked each of the twelve men in the eye throughout the course of her mini speech. To her surprise, all twelve men remained seated, their eyes fixed on her. She smiled gratefully,
"Thank you. All of you. If this goes well I'll find a way to repay each of you."
She turned to Namjoon,
"Get the others and bring them in here. We need to discuss our approach."
The bleach blonde haired male nodded before leaving the room. Somin turned back to the others,
"Since we'll be working together I'd like to know your names."
She looked over at Kris,
"What's your real name?"
"Wu Yifan."
He responded with a smirk. She smiled,
"My father spoke highly of you. I assume the other man is Junmyeon? The leader of the Red Lotus?"
"That's right. Call me Suho though."
Suho interjected before Kris could respond. Somin nodded at him,
"My father spoke of you as well. He said that both of you were good leaders and that he had high hopes for you."
She looked past them to observe their men,
"What about your men? I'd very much like to speak with them. I want to get to know each of you personally."
She motioned for one of the Silver Tigers to stand up,
"Would you mind telling me your name? If you have a nickname you'd rather go by I want to know that, too"
The man shifted on his feet slightly, his chocolate eyes meeting hers as he spoke,
"I'm Baekhyun. I don't have a nickname. Just Baekhyun."
Somin smiled warmly at him,
"It's nice to meet you, Baekhyun."
The chestnut haired man smiled back easily, visibly more comfortable after seeing her reaction,
"It's great to meet you too, Somin."
He sat back down as the next man stood up,
"Kim Jongin, at your service. Though I'd prefer if you called me Kai."
His voice was smooth and relaxed as he spoke to her. She smiled,
"Alright then, Kai it is."
She said lightly. He nodded gratefully and sat back down. The man next to him stood up. He had dark, slightly unruly hair and large ears,
"My name is Chanyeol. I don't have a nickname either."
Somin nodded in understanding,
"Sounds good. It's nice to meet you."
Chanyeol smiled cutely,
"Likewise."
Once he sat down the man next to him stood,
"My name is Kyungsoo, but I've been called D.O. by many people. It doesn't matter to me which one you use."
"Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep it in mind."
D.O. smirked slightly as he sat down. The last man stood up,
"Sehun. No nickname. Just Sehun."
Somin nodded as Sehun sat back down. Suho leaned in and whispered to her,
"Don't take it personal. Sehun will warm up to you eventually."
Somin nodded in understanding as Namjoon brought the others in, each taking a seat somewhere in the room,
"Thank you for being here guys. We need to discuss our approach on this. We have to be subtle. Namjoon, I want you and the others to speak with our contacts within the police. I want the file on my mother's accident pulled. I know my father didn't tell me everything."
"The usual contacts?"
"Yes. Trust no one else. Oh, and give my best to Police Chief Jinki."
Namjoon nodded in understanding, smirking as he and the others left to call the officers and set up a meeting. Somin turned to Kris and spoke,
"I want you and your men to run extensive background checks on my mother and father. I think we can figure out what's happening now if we go into their pasts. Can you guys do that?"
Kris nodded as Somin handed him a piece of paper,
"Here's a list of people who can help. I trust them implicitly. Don't share this list."
He took the list from Somin and gestured to his men,
"Let's go."
He said, casting a lingering look at Somin as they left. Somin turned to Suho,
"You and your men are going to help me here. I need to go through my father's files in his office. There's a bunch so I want you guys to go through it with me. Follow me."
She motioned for them to follow her up the stairs and to the door at the end of the hall. When she opened the door, it revealed a large desk with an intimidating chair behind it. The walls were lined with filing cabinets and bookshelves with binders. Somin sat in the large black leather chair while the others either stood or sat somewhere else in the room,
"Pick something and start reading. We have to go through every single file in here. No detail is too small or insignificant."
After saying this she picked up the file that was on her fathers desk and opened it, settling in for a very long night.
