After that day, things had taken on a more then noticeable change. Somehow Maxie had kept the fact that I ditched that day away from my parents, and overlooked the fact that I practically spent the day not yielding to her command. I was thankful, don’t get me wrong, but I was also suspicious. Maxie considered never letting anything go a form of love, so…did ignoring it mean she was mad?
Maybe that was why she was treating Hector like a freaking prince.
She us more than obliged to answer whenever he had deep and secret questions about pack business. You know, compromising stuff that he could easily take back to his brother so that he could kill us all. And here’s where I get caught whenever I try (and trust me when I say I tried to trust him, but he didn’t make it easy), he’s asking all the wrong questions.
Example, rather than Will silver be deadly to me once I’m a werewolf? He asks, So, is silver deadly to you guys?
Good Question: Will it hurt when I’m bitten? What can I expect afterwards?
Bad Question: So, do you guys ever just randomly bite people? Do you know anyone who does?
Good Question: Are there any days that I should be extra careful? Any days were I might be at a loss on my supernatural awesomeness?
Bad Question: Are there any days were your weak?
Good Question: What is the werewolf community like?
Bad Question: Where is your leader? How might one get close to him?
Goddamnit, he doesn’t even act like he’s planning to be one of us someday. He’s acting more like it’s a research project. One that will get us all killed. Did I mention how I thought he’s planning to kill us? Well, that was my opinion. And no matter how many times I tried to point that out to Maxie, she just wouldn’t have any of it. Whenever I tried to bring it up to Nathan, he’d just say we can’t go against Maxie. And Scuff, well, he was the only one keeping me sane. (Him and his incredible cuteness.)
Hector had been trying to win me over for the last few days, in many different and increasingly annoying ways. But the other day took the cake.

I was in Mr. Castanza’s room, as I usually spent my free periods when I was avoiding the general public. He always had his door open for me and one other musically gifted student in school, James Giovanni. He was a quiet kid, mostly caught up in his music. It was rare to find a moment were his head was actually entirely focused in the here and now, he always seemed to be on another planet. Him and I, we had a similar beat. He was a beyond talented musician, he wouldn’t be anything less than famous when he grew up. But until then, I was happy to have him in the room with me and Mr. C. We were an odd little trio, but seemingly the only group that I could work with at that point.
