Chapter 1 - Sidekick?

~(Y/n)'s POV~

I sat in my workshop sighing. " What's wrong (N/n)? Do ya need a rest?" Sena asked me as I shook my head, saying no. " Come on, how are ya getting tired by only staring at your newest invention? " she sighed.

I shrugged," I don't know, maybe I got tired from all my thinking processes or my happy dance I did for literally an hour?" I emphasized the last part.

She giggled and hugged me." Hey, at least ya accomplished your lifelong dream, right? Also, you're a million times smarter than an average 11-year-old! " She cheered as I giggled.

" You forgot something," I started as Sena looked at me in confusion. " We're." I corrected her as she was trying not to smile and playfully punched my shoulder.

" I'm not smart, ( Y/n)! I misspeak most of the time! " Sena giggled as I gave her an " Are you sure that relates to the topic?" face. " Exactly! " Sena exclaimed, trying not to laugh.

" Now I'm sure that you're doing it in purpose.." I muttered as she gasped.

" How did ya know?" she gasped as I laughed, playfully punching her stomach. Us Mobians are usually 3 feet tall but Sena is 5 feet tall so she's like a giant!

She giggled and realized something. How did I know? She made the face. " (Y/n)? Ya like Sonic, right? " she asked as my face erupted in flames. Okay, that was an exaggeration. I blushed. She giggled," Well, you're in luck! Sonic is holding up some tryouts for those who want to be his sidekick!"

" Isn't Tails his sidekick?" I asked as she gave me the flyer.

She blushed and her ears drooped. " Yeah, he got hurt so Sonic is having tryouts to protect Tails. Poor buddy! " She sighed. Wait....

I nudged her playfully, smirking. " Someone got a crush?" I teased as she blushed hard. Literally. Her face was redder than Knuckles' red color.

" N-No!" She protested but I raised an eyebrow. " Fine.... Yeah..." She sighed as I cheered. " I'll never get a chance with him though... He's so cute but I'm not.. He's smarter than me! He's out of my league! " She exclaimed sadly.

I sighed and engulfed her in a hug. " Sena..... You helped me with my projects but I take all the credit by accident. You made me a plane that could turn into a car or a boat anytime! You're smart! No one has done that before! " I sighed as she smiled happily.

" Thanks (Y/n)!" She smiled. I smiled back as I thought. She was always used by people for her ability to draw, invent, and her intelligence, and her kindness makes it worse! (B/f/n) and I have never used her, along with her bestest friend Anna. " (Y/n)?" I snapped out of my thoughts.

" Yeah?"

" We have to go now."

" Go where?"

" To the tryouts remember? I'll go with you so you won't get shy!" She exclaimed as she dragged me out the workshop and to the line.

We stood behind a person with a cloak. Suspicious...... But nah, they won't be dangerous, right?? Yep!

Once the person in front of us got in, it took a while before I got in, Sena following me.

I saw Sonic and Tails there. I focused mostly on Sonic since it was the tryouts as Sena leaned on the wall, fixing her robot pet dog as its eyes were closed since it was powered off. I can see Sena trying not to giggle from her giggling when she's nervous.
