Chapter Two
"Hey mom?" I whispered.
"Yeah?" She asked, not taking her eyes of the Silence at our door.
"Cover me!" I yelled, as I darted towards the drawer where her and I put our guns in.
"Got it." She said, calmly considering the situation.
"Here." I said throwing her gun into her hands.
Simulatiously we shot at the Silence, not missing a single shot. They inched closer and farther into our house. I nervously started biting my lip, which is a bad habit of mine. Slowly, they forced there way in. Within minutes they had me and her cornered.
"Is it just me or are we defenatly screwed?" I murmered loud enough for my mother to hear.
"The later." She said ashen.
I struggled to get free. The Silence had tied us up in our very own living room. I glanced over to my mother, she had somehow wriggled free. She held her finger to her mouth, signaling me not to say anything about it.
"This is a real disgrace. You guys come in here and bombard us in our very own home. One word; disappointing." I babbled, trying to buy time untill our unevitable death.
"How dare you speak against the Silence!" Snapped an oh so famillier voice. Tasha Lem, the creator and sole leader of the Silence. She raced toward me with her fists clenched, ready to punch me in the gut.
"Don't touch my daughter, Tasha." My mother snarled.
"Or what?" Tasha asked.
"Or so help me the reign of all time lords and humans themselves will be brought down on you." My mother said as she exploded into a verbal rage, which included curse words. I could tell Tasha had had enough of my mothers fiery attitude. She slowly strotted towards my mother.
"Don't touch my mother either." I barked.
"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree I see. Well River, why punish just you?" Tasha rhetorically asked as she followed through with her plan to punch me. In one swift swing of the arm she nailed me right in the gut. I howled in pain. My mother jumped up and grabbed the conviently placed gun they left in front of us. She started shooting at the Confessional Preists, nailing every one of them. Then she turned to Tasha.
"So, are you just going to stand there?" My mother asked with a laugh. She was late to realize that Tasha was behind me, with a knife to my throught.
