Chapter four.

"Millionaire Lorenzo Martino got engage a few weeks ago to an unknown lady, who is this Alexandra Broadman? A fan or a lady seeking a few millions for her 'child in need' foundation" we all sat in front of the television watching this horror unravel in front of us. "Do they really think of me like that?" I shook my head and kissed her head. "Baby they are going to say things like this, it's the first time I actually did something in front of a lot of people when I asked you to marry me, best thing to do now is to schedule an interview with that reporter." She stood up and made her way to the bathroom, she's been emotional more than ever lately, I didn't want her to be afraid of anything. "I will go after her to make sure she's okay." Jasmine stood up and followed her.

I finally phoned the reporter who said all those things about me and Lexi's relationship. We were currently sitting in my office. "Mr. Martino thank you for having us today to do our first face to face interview with you." I looked at the lady that has so much make up on her face. "It's a pleasure Ms. Farley."

"So, Mr. Martino you and Ms. Alexandra Broadman, how did that happen?" I took a deep breath and smiled thinking of that first time I met her. "It all happened here in my office, she was asking for donations around Atlantis for her fundraiser, I never saw her coming into my office and when I looked at her it was like something just completed my life." She smiled but it wasn't a full smile. "So, it's a true love at first site?" I smiled thinking how I would love to zip this ladies mouth shut. "Yes, it's not just love at first site but in a way its faith that brought us together, she's not after my money or the fame, she's actually a very wealthy young beautiful lady and she is my soon to be wife, so I would just like to make that clear. Thank you so much for this interview Ms. Farley." I felt my phone vibrate and saw it was Jasmine. "hello?" I said while walking out of my office. "Brother, we are at the hospital with Lexi." I felt a sharp pain in my heart. "I am on my way."

The drive to the hospital felt like forever, I parked my car and saw Richard waiting outside. "What happened?" he looked at me and gave me a hug, he never does something like this with me. "She's going to be alright." I let go of him and made my way to the receptionist. "Hi my fiancé is in here Alexandra Broadman." She looked down at her papers. "Follow me sir."

"Room 224 the doctor will be with you soon." I opened the door and saw Lexi sleeping in the hospital bed, while my sister is standing at the window. "Jasmine, what happened?" she looked at me with a smile but wasn't a happy one. "I went into the room, I heard she was crying in the bathroom but I didn't know why, and me the nosy one opened the door and there she was sitting on the floor." She sniffed. "It was so much blood Lorenzo and in her hands was this little small fetus, I thought it was a period gone bad." I took a hold of my sister and she cried into my shirt. "I had a child?" I felt my throat tightening up and tears came running from my eyes. "How did we miss this?" she looked up at me and sniffed. "Not even Lexi knew, they gave her medicine to relax, she is so heartbroken she thinks she's a bad person." I looked at her sleeping body, she looks pale and got circles underneath her eyes.

Jasmine and Richard phoned my mother and let her know what happened, they bid their goodbyes to go freshen up at home. "Lexi, I am so sorry I wasn't there for you when it happened, you would have been a wonderful mother, I love you so much we will get through this I will be with you every step of the way."

I took a hold of her hand and kissed it. She's been asleep for almost two days; the doctor said its stress that is making her sleep so long. I heard a knock on the door and saw my mother looking at me with sadness in her eyes. "Mother." She made her way to me and hugged me. "O my son I am so sorry." I broke down in my mother's arms and started to cry, I've never been this broken or weak. "Let it out my son, everything will be fine I promise." I sniffed and looked at my mother. "I wasn't there for her when it happened mother, she was alone I promised her I would always be there." "Lorenzo no one knew she was pregnant and we never knew this was going to happen, I need you to be strong because when she's going to wake up, she's going to blame herself and then you need to be strong because there will be bad things running through her mind like she killed your child and that you don't want to be with her anymore." I nodded my head and wiped my tears; my mother took my seat so that I could go fetch some coffee and something to eat.
