Chapter Three

It's the night of the party and we decided to get dressed by my mother's house. "Mother I need to tell you something but please keep it between the two of us." She looked at me with a smile. "Yes, my child I will." I took a deep breath "I asked Lexi to marry me but we are going to make it official tonight at the party." She started to jump up and down. "I am going to have another daughter, I am happy for you my son." She gave me a hug, in that moment Jasmine came walking through the door. "Hey we are ready, and I think you would like to come this way." We followed my sister and saw Lexi coming down the stairs she was the most beautiful creature I ever saw. "You look beautiful baby." I took her hand and kissed it. "And you look real sexy Mr. Lorenzo Martino." We looked into each other's eyes. "Well I don't want to interrupt you two but we have a party to attend." We both turned to see my mother looking at us.

The night was good so far, I had extra guards around and inside the plaza. I mad my way on the stage and saw Lexi and my sisters talking and laughing at the table. "Lady's and Gentlemen, thank you all for being here tonight. We decided to have a fundraiser for a very special person in my life, she's a wonderful person and gives so much for children in need that doesn't have parents and have cancer and sicknesses that doesn't have a cure for. Can we please give a round of applause for Ms. Lexi Broadman." Everyone started to clap their hands while she made her way to the stage. "Thank you, Lorenzo, and thank all of you for your support and kindness, the donations for tonight will help so many children in need, from medicine and new furniture. I want them to feel at home because a lot of them don't have a home, so thank you all." She looked at me and I took a hold of the mic. "There is one more thing I want to say before we all start having fun." I got down on my knee and took out a red small box out of my suit pocket. "Lexi, the first time I saw you, you were standing in my office door with the most beautiful smile on your face, I knew there and then you are the one for me, you have a heart of gold and most important, it doesn't matter in what situation you are in you always smile and want to help and care about everyone else." She started to smile with tears in her eyes. "Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" she started crying "Yes!" I got up and kissed her I heard everyone shouting and whistling. I slid the ring on her finger and she looked at it with awe. We looked at the people in front of us and that's when I saw Alex Broadman standing up and making his way out the room.

The rest of the night went by fast, my family was so happy and relieved that I finally found someone special. "Do you want to go home?" I whispered into Lexi's ear and saw her body melt under my touch. "I do feel a little tired."

We bid our goodbyes to everyone and made our way to our cabin in the woods. "I hope you are not to tired soon to be Mrs. Martino." She blushed. "No, I am actually not tired at all, I just wanted to leave so that I can have you all to myself." I pulled up into the cabin's drive way and saw a package in front of our door. "Did you order anything?" she shook her head and started to breath heavy. "He found us, didn't he?" I took a hold of her and then took my gun out from under my seat. "We were never hiding baby, stay in the car." I got out and made my way to the cabin I looked through the house and then outside, I slowly opened the package and I stopped when I heard a ticking sound that started. "Run Lexi!!!!!" I saw her get out of the car while I run to her we stood behind a big tree and saw everything explode right before our eyes. Lexi started whimpering in my arms while I took out my phone to call for help. "I never should have brought you into this mess Lorenzo, he's never going to stop now." I looked at her and wiped her tears off her face. "Baby it's a sign that you came into my life, I am a better person and the extra baggage is just a bonus baby, please don't cry I won't let him close to you."

She finally calmed down, after I phoned my sister Jasmine her husband came to pick us up and let his men look around to see anything they could have left behind. "Thank you, bro I didn't know who to call." I look at my brother in law. "It's no problem, I am actually glad you phoned me, I did some research on this 'Wolf pack' and what I found was very interesting. Remember when I told you about almost twenty-seven years ago my mother went missing, Alex was the one behind all of it and I just found it out now recently with new information someone gave us, but we all know it was Harley who magically made evidence appear on my front door step."
