"Seoyeon, I really need to say that back there, you did a really great job. Its quite admirable. I think we should throw a small little party, a celebration, you know?"

I nod as Mr.Ryu babbles on about throwing a little event back at the office. I'm barely listening, however. Even though Taehyung is currently in another car, I feel like he's right behind me. It must be all the attention I got after we left the house.

"Turn around sir, you're under arrest." Taehyung slowly raises his hands above his head, still processing and trying to figure out what just happened. His face doesn't show it, but I know.

As the cuffs are being locked into place around his wrists, Taehyung watches me. I try my best to avoid eye contact despite our interaction five minutes ago. I can feel what he's thinking.

Why aren't you being arrested? Are you with them?

I can see him come to realization when one of my coworkers comes beside to me, telling me that Mr.Ryu will explain everything.

I nod.

Taehyung's eyes divert somewhere else.

I want to leave the room. I feel like my heart is being twisted and pulled out of my chest. But I have to stay.

I'm sorry.

Every minute I hear compliments from coworkers. Good job; we're proud of you; you're the best for a reason; and endless stream.

When we leave the house, Taehyung still doesn't resist in the least. His emotions are probably a total wreck inside; his thoughts scrambling.

We enter separate cars and are soon on our way to the police station. The whole ride feels like a blur. Mr.Ryu talks and talks, but I'm not listening at all. Its not long until we arrive at our destination and have to step out to regroup once more. This time, I stay at the back of the group.

I can't help but ask myself if this is what I want.

Soon enough, Taehyung is put into a cell in the station. He'll be questioned several times, have a hearing (if even possible), and stay in jail for life for all his charges. That'll be it. He'll be gone.

"Seoyeon!"

I turn my head towards the voice. Seokjin walks towards me holding a coffee.

I didn't get any sleep last night, and I guess Seokjin noticed my eye bags and dead aura.

"Thanks." I say, taking the warm cup in my hands. Despite the strong smell of caffeine, something tells me this won't wake me up.

We drink our coffees in silence for a few minutes until Seokjin clears his throat, saying "You look tired. Anything wrong? You caught the bad guy, you're famous in the force now, you're practically empowering women. Well, not really but you could be."

"I don't know. Everything feels really off. I might ask for a couple days off." I sigh.

I can't let him know about our relationship.
