Chapter 3:
It has been a week since my sixteenth birthday and I still haven’t found my mate. I have talked to all the men in Royalta and none of them are the one. My one. My parents have noticed my depressed expression and called me to meet them in my father’s office.
I opened the door to see my parents nodding to each other in agreement. They turned to look at me with a frightening smile. I raised my left eyebrow in confusion.
“Sweetie,” my mother began. “We have some good news.” She paused, before saying “We’re sending you to America!”
My mouth dropped in horror. America? Why? What did I do wrong? I searched my mind for any possible reason to why they would send me away. I drew a blank.
“Why?” I finally whispered.
“Oh, no. Sweetie, you didn’t do anything wrong.” She wrapped an arm around my shoulders.
“Rosie, we think that you need to experience a different perspective of life. We want you see it in a different way. We have already enrolled you in an American Academy. It’s the best in the U.S.A.” My father informed me.
A smile crept onto my face as I said, “Oh, well, I think this could be a fun experience.” They grinned at my words.
“Do you think I might find my mate there?” I questioned my parents as I felt excitement start bubble in my stomach.
They glanced at each other. “You never know, Rosie.” My smile grew wider. The shine had returned to my eyes. I ran over to embrace them tightly.
“You’re bags are already packed, sweetie. Your flight is in an hour. You should go get ready,” my mother said as she shoed me out of the office. I ran to my room to take a warm shower.
My smile still hadn’t left my face as I walked out of my room with a tight blue tank top, white short shorts and blue flip flops. The thought of possibly going to school with him, living near him and talking to him was overwhelming.
I walked into our private jet with 5 royal guards after saying goodbye to my family. Ten hours and we’re going to land in America. I’m so nervous.
