→first things first, the theory wants to tell us that their hair color reflects their awareness of being their fake selves.

what I'm trying to say is that the boys are living in a dream. a fake reality. it's everything they wanted and all is happy but it isn't real.

→now that their hair color is back to black, they are now aware that they were their fake selves before. going back to black means they're going back to reality.
