Today was my birthday and I was kinda excited.
When it's the birthday of the higher ranks we don't go to school and have a festival all day, only the omegas go to school, the festival lasts until 9pm
That's when all the wolves who haven't found their mate go down to the lake while the omegas clean up. We have a bonfire and mingle until 3am then go home, the omegas then have to clean that area once everyone's cleared out. I'm really excited because I'm hopefully gonna find my mate today.

I hated the high ranks birthdays. I'm basically forced to go to school then spend the rest of the day cooking, cleaning, and trying to do homework. To top it all off I get my period in a few days, now you may be confused,
if a male gets his period on his 13th birthday that's how he becomes an omega, omega males can get pregnant, omega females are chosen based on strength/skills: Weaker females become omegas, if they show improvement they could get a better rank, but for males we're stuck as omegas unless our mate is a high rank.
The perks of being me I guess.
I walked out of the house where my older brother, Lucas, was waiting to walk me to school. "Hey kiddo" he greeted and ruffled my hair. I playfully bit at his hand "heyy no touching the merchandise" he just rolled his eyes "my bad princess" I scowled. "Fuck off"

Once I got to the fairly empty school my only friend, Ashley, pounced on me. "c'mon lets go before they see us!" she tugged me off into the woods before I could question her. "Where are we going?" I asked as she practically pulled my arm out it's socket "we're ditching duh" she replied as we reached the old tree house our parents built when we were kids, back before we became omegas and our parents became disappointed in our existence.
"I brought my laptop, movies, drinks, and snacks" she told me as she put her bag in the bucket.
There was a rope and a bucket hanging from the window so we could pull our bags up once we're inside.
She climbed up and I followed behind her. "I figured we should relax until it's time to slave over cleaning the packs mess" I mentally thanked the moon goddess for blessing me with an amazing best friend "you're the best Ash" "I know"

Me and ash were now outside in our wolf forms play fighting, yes we act like pups but do we care? Nope.
I jumped as two familiar wolves emerged from the trees. 'shit, it's Silas and Jackson' I mind linked Ash. Silas is Elias's cousin, and the future beta, and Jackson is his best friend, 'yes it is and you two are going to be in big trouble tomorrow' Silas sneered, they then knocked us over and walked away 'Lookin forward to it!' Ash yelled through the mind link, earning two growls in return. 'great' I huffed and plopped down. Ash layed on me and growled lightly 'stupid high ranks'
I grunted in agreement.

It was 12am now, most wolves have already went home, only a few hopeful she wolves lurked around. I suddenly caught the faint whiff of my mate making my heart race.
My wolf howled He's near
I just grinned See you tomorrow, mate.
