Through primary years 1-4, my family lived on an island off the mainland Japan, called Okinawa. I was still pretty little, but I remember my favorite restaurants, beaches, and a whole assortment of shops and stuff off base. The best place for cheap (but amazing quality) ramen, is Arashi's. We went every two weeks, and we all loved everything they served. They had this really cool ordering machine where you put in your yen, and select what you want to eat. Kinda like a vending machine, but it would give you a ticket to give to the waitress/waiter. They only had like, 8 tables and there were 6 of us including a baby, so the place was always pumping and busy. If I ever go back to my favorite home, Arashi's gonna be the first place I eat at.
There is this amazing aquarium there, it had sharks and sting rays, and a few lion fish. For a while, we kept visiting to check on the baby turtle shells to see if the babs'd hatch. I ended up missing it, but it was still really cool to me. There was also this restaurant area in it that had this HUUUUUGE tank with a whale shark in it. It was one of the most beautiful creatures I've ever seen and I cried the first few times I saw her (Probably looked like an idiot or spoiled brat, but her soft face and spots were just sooo pretty) and my dad would just keep us moving along so we'd get ice cream after.
There's this weird Arcade/indoor playground/bowling alley/roller rink/sports assortment in this mega building with a bowling pin on top, p sure it's called round one. It was p great, you just had to pay to enter, then you could do anything! They gave us cool keychains with the logo or something on it, and my sibs and I would p much stay in the ball pit. I honestly don't know how to explain it, but we'd be there for hours just playing till my parents would gather us up to leave. On the ground floor, it was an arcade with claw games and racers and coin pushers. There was a claw game with a bunch of pikachu pillow plushies in it and I put in about ¥900 to try for it.... I lost all 9 times. I asked my dad to help me, but he just stared at me and I felt like I was gonna cry (I was like, 6.) An employee must've seen me fail miserably, and felt bad cause he unlocked the machine and just handed me one. I was sooo happy I just kept hugging my plushie. I bowed a bit, said thank you, and went to find my family.
I really miss my home, I haven't lived there for a while, or even very long, but it'll always be my favorite station.
