The Demon Leo and the Human Vivi

Chapter 1

Leo looked in the mirror after making himself human only to see that his hair had changed to black from white and his eyes had turned to brown from purple. He still looked his age but was a bit better looking. Leo decided to leave the castle to start his adventure in his new ordinary life, even though it'll only last one year. As he goes to leave the castle the castle guards stop him and ask him "Who are you? Humans don't belong here". Leo was surprised that his human form even fooled his own castle guards. Leo Immediately says "I am Leo the demon king. Now let me pass!". The guards laughed and said, "Do you have any proof human?". Leo had no other choice. He used his powers to light one of the guards on fire to show that he was the TRUE demon king. The guard begged for forgiveness " I am sorry sir but we did not recognise you. Can you please stop the flames from killing me? I will take any other punishment for not realising that it was you sooner". Leo sighed and stopped the guard from burning to death while saying " At least I now know that no one will be able to recognise me as the demon king".

As Leo left his castle to start his new adventure as a human, he saw a human girl who had dropped all of her belongings after tripping on a rock. Leo went to see if the human girl was ok. As she saw Leo asking her so many questions such as "Are you ok? Do you need help? Do you want me to help you pick everything up? Can you get up?". The girl smiled and said, "I'm ok, thank you for coming to help me". Leo was so used to everyone being angry at him that he almost forgot how good it felt for someone to smile at him. Leo helped the girl get up and get her belongings as he smiled back at her.

The girl who was about to leave asked: "What is your name?". Leo replied with "Leo, what's your name?". The human girl replied with "Vivi. Nice to meet you, Leo". Leo said "Nice to meet you too Vivi. I'm sorry to ask but do you know where the closest inn is? I'm kind of new to this part of town and don't have a place to stay." Vivi seemed happy and said " Instead of showing you to an inn, I'll be your guide. I have to go back to my home country next year so I'll only be your guide for one year. Is that ok with you?". Leo seemed a bit worried since he only had a year as a human and was planning not to get too close to anyone (as friends) because they would think he had deceived them when he turned back to normal. 

Leo took a big breath and finally decided to say "Yes, you can be my guide for a year as long as you don't mind". Vivi was so happy that Leo said yes. Vivi said " Let's go to the Zonia inn. It always gets a lot of customers and is one of the most well-known inns in all of Xenoria. The only rule for staying at Zonia inn is that you can't talk about the demon king or they'll kick you out. That's not really a problem for me since I hate him but I thought I would tell you before you accidentally say something. Leo froze from the fear of what Vivi had just said to him. He was the demon king and Vivi hated the demon king. He didn't know what to say. He then realised how bad it would be for him to reveal that he was the demon king to Vivi.

Leo walked with Vivi to the next town where Zonia inn was located. After one hour of walking, they finally arrived at Zonia inn. As they walked in, Leo felt the eyes of human criminals staring at him. He jumped at the sight of Vivi staring at him with a look of frustration. She whispered to him "Don't stare at them directly or you might regret it". For the first time, Leo started to feel his whole body freeze as he became overwhelmed by the immense feelings of the people around him. Vivi suddenly went up to the person in charge and paid for a room. Vivi grabbed Leo's hand and took him upstairs. She took him in what seemed to be the room she had just paid for. The number of the room was carved on wood and put above the door.

The room was exactly what you'd expect it to be. A comfortable bed with a weird looking mattress and thin parts of cheap looking material on the top, a lamp with dust all over, a dressing table with a mirror, a wardrobe, and a table with two drawers. Leo shook Vivi's hand off of him. Leo stated to Vivi "It is impolite to hold someone with no warning where I come from". Vivi looked at Leo with an understanding look while trying to look away from him. Leo realised and asked, "what's wrong?". Vivi shook her head as Leo took a step towards her. Vivi replied, "You look angry, like a different person". She had only met Leo a few hours ago but she had already realised what he's like. Leo really wanted to tell Vivi about why he was being like that but couldn't because he would have to tell her about being the Demon King.
