The Demon Leo and the Human Vivi

Chapter 3

Location: Emerald Waterfall

"Do you think the cave is really behind the waterfall?" asked Leo in disbelief. "Yeah, I'm sure it is!" said Vivi with Confidence. Leo told Vivi to go explore around before they take a look behind the waterfall to see if the cave really exists. "Why should I explore? I want to go in and look for the emerald crystal!" shouted Vivi. "It'll just be for a bit, ok?" said Leo looking at Vivi with a smile. "Ok ok I'll go explore." said Vivi, looking at Leo with a frustrated look. Now that Vivi had gone to explore, Leo could turn back into his demon form and explore behind the waterfall where the cave was supposed to be located without Vivi seeing him.

The cave was dark and had demons everywhere. "Leave this cave!" demanded Leo. "Why should we leave? We've been here longer than you." said one of the demons. "Do you know who I am?" said Leo with a 'you're dead' look in his eyes. "How would we know who you are?" said the demon. "Let me ask you this instead. Who is your King?" said Leo, now staring at the demon. The demons looked at each other and said "Umbry the second King of Demons. Why did you ask?". "I am the current King, Leo, the fifth King of Demons" said Leo with a look that sent shivers down the demon's spines. "That's impossible!" shouted one of the demons. "Get out of my sight before I burn you all to Hell and back. You have 5 seconds" said Leo. "If you can prove that you're the demon king then we will gladly leave but if you're not the demon king then we will stay here.

Leo looked at the demons. He didn't really like using his power as proof of being the king but there was no other way. He looked at one of the demons and used his mind control to make him attack one of the other demons."Please stop! I don't want to attack him!" said the mind controlled demon. "That still doesn't prove that you're the demon king, a lot of demons can use the mind control spell easily!" said one of the demons. Leo stopped his mind control over the demon and turned towards the other demon. 

"Then how do you want me to prove it?" said Leo. The demons looked at each other and one of them suggested that the only way for Leo to prove himself to them was too show his weapon which only the royal demons could hold (The demon weapon is passed down the royal demons. The demon weapon is always a scythe and can kill anything). "If that's what you want then I will show you" said Leo, as he summoned the scythe. The demons were surprised to see the actual demon weapon with their own eyes since it usually does not get shown to anyone. One of the demons froze in fear and ran out of the cave screaming for help. Leo realised that Vivi would probably come after hearing that demon scream. 'What do I do?' thought Leo in fear of having Vivi see him in this form.

Leo ran out of the cave and turned into his human form. Leo could see Vivi running towards him. "Leo, what happened? I heard someone scream for help!" said Vivi, out of breath. " I didn't hear anything..." Lied Leo, with a straight face. "Are you sure? the scream was really loud!" said Vivi. Leo changed the subject and started asking what Vivi would wish for if she got the emerald. "I don't know" said Vivi in a thinking pose. Leo looked at her and told her "there has to be something you want. "No...not really" said Vivi, now staring at Leo.

There was silence for a brief second before they heard a loud scream coming from the cave. Leo told Vivi to stay behind while he went back into the cave and checked who screamed. "No!" shouted Vivi, grabbing Leo by the hand before he could leave. Vivi insisted to come with him but Leo just kept saying that it would be better if he went to check it out alone. Not too soon after, they heard another scream coming from the cave. Vivi let go of Leo's hand and went to check it out herself.

Vivi entered the cave only to find two dead people on the ground with claw marks all over their bodies and a demon with sharp claws standing in front of Vivi with blood all over. Vivi screamed and suddenly fainted from what she had just seen. Leo saw Vivi on the ground and started shouting for Vivi to wake up but there was no response. Then as Leo rested Vivi on the side and stood up, he saw the demon who caused all of this. "Did you do this?" asked Leo, with an angry look. "What if I did, what can you do human" asked the demon. "Are you one of the demons that got warned before about getting out of this cave by the demon king?" asked Leo, coming closer to the demon. "Yeah, but how do you know about that?" asked the demon in surprise. Leo changed into his demon form, still walking towards the demon. "I thought I warned you before to get out of this cave" said Leo, staring directly into the demon's eyes with an aggressive look. "Y-Y-Y-You are the demon king?" said the demon, now trembling with fear. Leo took out the scythe (the demon weapon) and sliced the demon in half, killing him and turning him into dust.

Vivi started waking up. Leo turned into his human form and went to check up on Vivi. Vivi slowly opened her eyes. She saw Leo and asked what happened. Leo explained how she fainted from what she had seen. "I saw a demon" said Vivi trembling. "When I came he left, don't worry" lied Leo reassuring Vivi. "What about the people? Are they really dead?" asked Vivi looking at the dead bodies. "They are dead, there is no mistake about that" said Leo. 

Leo helped Vivi get up and get out of the cave. As they were about to leave the cave they saw a sparkle close to the entrance. Leo went to see what it was. It was the Emerald they had been searching for, but right as Leo went and touched it, it became dust. Leo had forgotten that the emerald would only grant a wish to a human but it would become dust when touched by a demon. Luckily Vivi didn't know that. "What happened!?" shouted Vivi out of surprise. "I don't know!" lied Leo. "Well whatever happened to the Emerald is not our problem anymore" said Vivi, with a sad face. Leo felt bad for not being able to at least give it to Vivi to make a wish.

They both got out of the cave and looked at each other with a 'whatever' look.
