Melanie: “Hello?”
??:“Yes, hello this Melanie yes?”
Melanie: “Yes... who’s this?”
I wasn’t sure who I was talking to, but the lady had a british acsent and sounded very business like... which kind of scared me because last I checked I never gave my number to anyone I didn’t know... especially from a different country. Suddenly, I felt like I committed a crime....
??: My name is Abbie and I work for Simon Cowell
SIMON COWELL!!! My head snapped over at Natalie who was eating a piece of pizza then Riley who just came through the door with her helmet under her arm. We all lived pretty close to each other so just like TV shows we would always randomly show up at each others houses.
Natalie: “what?”
She said silently in confusion. The lady on the phone continued what she was saying. I couldnt believe one word she was saying. Happy. Shocked. In Disbelief.
Abbie: “ so your plane ride tickets should be in the mail soon if you haven’t already received them because your flight is in two weeks”
Melanie: “TWO WEEKS....wait... is this some kind of a prank?”
This had to be a joke... Why do famous people think they can just come into my life and make me practically move for 2 months?
Abbie:”No, I assure you it’s not...”
She said very sternly before Riley cut her off while grabbing a piece of pizza.
Riley: “Who are you talking to-”
I shushed her then continued listening to Abbie.
Melanie: “How am i supposed to get flight tickets in the morning if for a flight in two weeks?”
Natalie: “NO! We have the championships for lacrosse! YOU CAN’T LEAVE US!”
Melanie:”HA, no Natalie, for all of us”
Riley and Natalie looked at each other strangely then back up at me.
Riley:”GOSH MELANIE WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO”
She started rushing towards me reaching for the phone. I tried to dodge her reach but then I heard Abbie’s voice again.
Abbie:”Melanie.. is that the other girls?... the rest of the band?”
Melanie:”You mean Natalie and Riley?...Yes...”
Abbie:”Perfect! Please put me on speaker Melanie.”
I gave Natalie and Riley the “keep calm, act normal, stay cool” signal as I put Abbie on speaker.
Natalie & Riley: HEY! VAS HAPPENIN!!
I looked at them in silence as they started laughing
Melanie:”Really guys?!... Really?!”
I tried to not laugh because I think this ladys talking real business and if she is this is a huge opportunity...
Riley:”She could be a complete fake for all we know?”
Riley and i tried to whisper but Abbie still heard us.. its ok we were never really good at whispering anyways... No shame done.
Abbie:” I am not a complete fake-”
Natalie:”Tell us about yourself to prove you’re not a fake!”
