Capitalization
A really common mistake that writers can make when writing a story is forgetting to capitalize. They can forget to capitalize Names and all of the ‘I’s in a story. I know many people whose biggest pet peeve is when people don’t capitalize their ‘I’s.
Also, you don’t want to capitalize too much. When someone is yelling, you do not always to put it in all caps. Usually, when someone is yelling, there is an exclamation point at the end of the sentence. You can capitalize all the letters in a word or sentence without it being grammatically incorrect. When you do put words in all caps, use it sparingly.
Like I mentioned before, if someone is yelling and you want to put emphasis on it, then you can italicize and put an exclamation point. For example:
“Where have you been?” My mother asked angrily. Oh, crap.
“Well-“ I began, trying to think of an explanation that would explain my situation without putting her into shock. She cut me off before I could explain.
“I don’t want to hear it! Get to your room now!” I slowly started to make my way upstairs.
“Oh, and in case you thought you were getting off the hook, you’re grounded.”
“But mom!” I exclaimed.
Or you could capitalize it.
Personally, I think italicizing and putting an exclamation point looks much more professional, but I guess which one you use just depends on your writing style.
