"기억은 잊어도 심장은 기억한다."
"Sometimes, happy memories hurt the most"
I watched from my bedroom window as you circled around your backyard to trim the grass along the fences.
You were wearing a white shirt with sweatpants and some old converse. This time, you decided to tie your bangs up.Your tall and lean figure made me remember how that used to be such an advantage back then.
My mother used to hide sweets on the highest self. Having a sweet tooth ever since I was little, I craved for it everyday . I flashed back to the time on how I used to call you over just to fetch those sweets down for me. You used to joke around that the only way I could give up on my sweet obsession was if your kisses tasted like sweets.I bite my lips as I felt a sting of tears rolling down my cheeks. It hurt to recall those happy memories that told us that there was a time where we were truly happy.
I jolted back to reality when you stepped over a plant and stormed it. I watched in horror as you continued.
But It was your next move that took me to completed surprise.
You started to water the plant that you just stormed over. Why on earth are you watering a dead plant after fucking killing it?I held my breath,
my fingers fluttered as you looked toward me, your lashes dark against your pale skin.
"Just like how you stormed me over and chew me out, giving attention to something that's already dead and have given up on life, won't get any better." You stated as you pointed to the plant.Reality came down to me with a crushing weight. "Maybe if I try harder and give the plant a first aid therapy, it will live. Maybe if I prove to you that life's more than just breathin-"
Before I could continue, you cut me off.
"Try all you want but the dead won't ever come back to life."There was a stone on my throat, but I swallowed hard and shot back, trying to sound stern. "But you ain't dead, are you?"
