"Makenzie, I wanted to warn you. There are a lot of people coming to join us this summer. Some of them to stay, others will just be coming in and out very often." Sirius said, coming into the girl's room. It reminded him a tad of her old nursery.
The walls were purple with blue polka dots and a large bay window; put there by magic; had a soft purple cushion on the bench inside the window sill and curtains to match. There was a mirror on the back of her door and all sorts of stickers, old and new, covered the outside. There were lamps on the walls and the air seemed to sparkle slightly with magic and the smell of vanilla and coconut. A large blue bean bag chair sat in the corner, surrounded by stuffed animals and pillows. A large picture was on the wall facing her queen sized bed, the picture was of a skateboard. A red converse shoe on a small foot held one end of the board to the ground and the other end of the board, which was in the air, had a foot and a pointe shoe curved into it. You could just see a tutu and long legs in the rest of picture. It was very pretty. The wall that the painting faced has the name 'Makenzie' painted in blue above the head board of the bed and pictures, moving and non moving, surrounding the name. The bed underneath had a white head and foot board and a light blue comforter with lavender sheets and blue pillows.
"What sort of people?" she asked cautiously. She wondered if they would be quiet and boring or so loud she couldn't focus on the book she was trying to finish.
"Well have you ever heard of the Weasley's?" he asked. Makenzie shook her head and Sirius continued "Well, they have seven kids. Four of them are coming to stay along with the parents and two of their closest friends."
"That's a lot of people."
"Yes it is, their are twin boys that are a year older than you, three kids, one Weasley and his friends, that are a year younger and one girl two years younger." he explained.
"Are you saying I'm the only girl?" she yelled.
"No, their are two girls, both younger than you."
"Are you kidding me?"
"No, Mack, I'm not."
"Damn it."
"Language."
"Sorry."
"I thought Beaubaxtons taught you manners." Sirius said.
"They did, that doesn't mean I have to use them all the time." Mack answered.
"Looks like a lady, talks like a sailor." he uncle laughed before making his way out of her room, closing her closet door in the process. Makenzie came from a rich family so she wasn't exactly deprived of clothing and shoes, her closet had to be expanded when she began to put her things into it and now it was a small walk-in with shoes along the wall on the floor.
The thing about Makenzie is that she is OCD when it comes to colours and direction. All of her clothes and shoes were facing the same direction and were all colour coded in rainbow order. She also had a shelf close to the ceiling and a shelf hidden behind the clothes, no one knew about these which was rather good for her. All she had on the top shelf now was a box full of odd little things she wouldn't let anyone see.
Makenzie stood from where she sat in the middle of the floor staring at her ceiling and walked over to the wall the picture hung on. She looked at the silver frame and the white chest of drawers underneath it, debating in her head of what she should do. Finally Makenzie made a conclusion and, breathing a sigh, walked back to her closet and turned on the light. She pulled out a footstool and got the box. It was rather large but she held it and got another, a bit larger, from behind the clothing. It took about an hour for Makenzie to organize most of the things on the chest of drawers. When she stepped back to look at her work and she was pleased. Pageant, talent, and dance trophies lined the wall. Largest on the chest. In front of that she had a pair of pointe shoes at one end, a silver flute in the middle, and a large crown at the other end. Using magic, she conjured more shelves on the walls and she placed more trophies one for dance and talent on the other, with crowns and dance shoes on the last in the very middle. Makenzie then placed a few pieces of sheet music on the chest, under the flute.
"Mack, their here- what did you do?" Sirius asked, coming into her room.
"I put up a few more things." she answered.
"I didn't know you did these things. I mean, I knew your mother enrolled you into dance when you were young but I thought you would quit." he said looking at the shoes.
"No, I love dance. She also put me into pageants as soon as I was big enough to fit into a dress and she started teaching me to play the flute, piano and violin when I was six" she explained.
"I didn't know."
"There are a lot of things you don't know about me. For example, I can also skateboard." she said gesturing to the boards in the boxes.
"Ah, well, I hope to learn more." he said, making his way out but he stopped, his hand on the door handle. "Makenzie?"
"Hmm?"
"Can you still play piano?"
"Yes."
"Would you play for the Weasley's as a welcome. You could do the flute and violin as well if you like." At his words her face brightened into a grin.
"I would love to!" she exclaimed loudly.
"Great, dress nicely, dinner is almost ready." he said, leaving. Squeeling, Makenzie rushed to her closet. Immediatly she went to the purple and blue sections. She looked good in purple and blue. Rummaging through it, Makenzie found the perfect dress, it was simple, a solid dark purple, fitted at the bust and stomach, flaring out to her knees. Simple but elegant. She brushed back her hair and braided it over her shoulder and put in a small purple headband. Her uncle came in just as she was finishing up her make up.
"Have you decided what you are going to do?" he asked politely.
"Well, I still have my music sheets so why not?" she said.
"Brilliant! All of the instruments?"
"Um, I havnt even looked at my violin since I broke my hand two years ago but I guess I could try."
"Oh, Makenzie, I'm sorry. " he said, as she sat down and tugged on her sandals.
"No, that's alright, I need to play again." she said.
"Well, if you insist. Come on down, dinner is ready." said Sirius before walking out.
Makenzie waited for just another moment and wiped a tear from her eye before walking out and closing the door behind her.
