Not So Human

Chapter 4- Birthday!

Hey y'all sorry for the late by a million years update! I have been really busy and lazy however I hope to get the ball rolling again <3

Addalyn's POV

I wake up to my family surrounding my bed with a stack of waffles singing/screaming "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!" A smile broke out on my face as I heard this and giggled at Izzy's little added in "cha cha cha's".

My father kisses my head lightly smiling down at me. "Happy birthday baby girl, I trust you slept good last night?" 

"Yeah, I did" I simply lied because there was no use in saying I didn't. Like what is the point of that?

After my breakfast, I quickly hop in the shower getting ready for the day. Humming to myself quietly I can't stop thinking about Caden being outside my window last night. It confused the hell out of me but I let it go.

I got dressed in white ripped skinny jeans and a navy blue crop top, letting my hair fall in loose waves down my back. After applying my makeup I was ready to leave.

School wasn't all that exciting yet everyone still in that morning daze. I have yet to see my best friend or Caden today.

Wait why am I looking for Caden shouldn't I be avoiding him? Yes, I most definitely should!

However, something inside me wanted to confront him and stay close to him. I just had my first real conversation with the guy yesterday so I have no idea where these thoughts are coming from. 

Pushing my inner conflict away, I made my way to my locker. As soon as I opened it I regretted it, because a whole bunch confetti and balloons came tumbling out and onto me.

K.C. and I have this birthday tradition where we decorate each other's lockers. Every year bigger than the year before. As if right on cue

"Awe I missed it" K.C. pouted from behind me. She always tries to be there to video my reactions and I do the same to her.

"Yeah, you did" giggling we both got our books for our class and K.C. helped me clean up the mess she made in the halls. We ended up being late to first hour but who cares it's my birthday.

The school day had gone dreadfully slow and all day there was no sign of Caden around.  Which left an odd feeling in the pit of my stomach.

"Get it together Addie you don't date guys," I told myself. Giggling I corrected my argument "or girls"

I have nothing against people who date that way or date at all I believe that you should love who you want to love, however, I also believe that love might not come for me, therefore I don't date period.

Furthermore, I don't believe in dating for fun, just to break up with someone, later on, I believe in dating as if you are practicing for marriage. 

Even after what happened yesterday in the woods I decided to go back out there for a run. I needed it.

That's how the rest of my week went. It felt as though everything was normal again although I couldn't shake the feeling that something big was going to happen.

After returning home I continued on my usual routine of eating a sack and going for a run in the woods.

However, as I was getting dressed I noticed some physical changes in my body. I was getting more curves, causing my hips and my breast to appear bigger than they were earlier. It's as if I was hitting puberty for the second time.

The newfound curves felt strange to me because I am a runner and runners like me who run all day and do nothing else don't get curves. We are sticks, Literal walking, talking sticks.

I made a mental note to go shopping for new clothes because the ones I have are getting tighter now.

I also noticed my cheekbones looked stronger than usual and my eyes were brighter almost with little flecks of gold in them now.

My appetite has changed, I've been craving more and more meat as well as eating a lot bigger portions than usual. "Maybe I really am going through a second puberty," I thought to myself.

Deciding not to waste too much time and energy on my new found changes I quickly finished all my homework and went to bed.

Tossing and turning in my bed I woke up as though my body temperature spiked, this used to happen often when I was a kid, however, I haven't had a problem in a while, oh well.

Looking out of my window I noticed that the moon was bright in the sky almost a full moon. No doubt the moon will be at its peak in a couple of nights.

I couldn't help but feel drawn to the moon in a way I felt like it was calling out to me.

All of a sudden I felt something stir in my body and my eyes felt weird, I looked into the mirror and noticed my eyes are now shining a bright gold color. As soon as it came it left.

Whatever was happening to me was happening quickly and I needed to figure it out!
