Thought 25: Never too late to learn

Failed friendships.

Not every relationship has a happy ending. Some friendships die young before they possibly could have blossomed into something beautiful and precious, dear to you.

The fun and frolic shared together, the sad emotional moments experienced together fade out, leaving nothing behind but deep scars that take a lifetime to heal.

And the wounds open up again on seeing the other person move on in life like you never existed.

And you are left alone with your thoughts,
"Where did I go wrong?"
"Why couldn't I save our relationship"?
"How could I have been a better friend?"

And you get the answers to your questions.

But unfortunately now it's too late. The other person has probably realised your shortcomings and left you for good.

Maybe the friendship wasn't genuine?

But it definitely was. No relationship is perfect. Every relationship has ups and downs but only few relationships are strong enough to survive the bumpy roads.

The world you built with them on the weak foundation of jealousy, love-hate attachments, greed and other vile human nature and behaviours, collapses in front of your eyes. You are helpless. You can't save your world but watch it break down step by step till every last stone drops dead.

It takes eons to rebuild yourself, with the only hope that, nothing terrible will happen again. And even if it does, rise up again from the burnt ashes with renewed zeal.
