But then everything changed, a pungent scent filled the air, one that meant one thing. Rogues. Jackson and I looked at each other. The next thing we knew 10 Nobel Alphas, from across the world, throats had been cut. Their bodies lying dead on the ground.

Jackson pushed me behind him as three words left his mouth.

"We're under attack." It was the last snowfall that evening. It was the day I was meant to die.

Jackson jumped from the podium and transformed into his wolf mid-air, shreds of his suit falling onto the snow as he landed on one of the men that cut one on the Nobel Alpha's throats and began tearing out the man's jugular vein. My parents had already shifted and Noah was next to the Beta side prepared to retaliate.

My Luna instincts had kicked in and before I knew it I was running towards every female who wasn't fighting yelling at them to grab the pups and help put them in the safe room. I ran my heels sinking into the snow and the train of my dress forming a pathway for the pack members to follow. Most of the children were in the castle either asleep or waiting for the arrival of their new Luna and Queen, it was the tradition that children under the age of 16 did not attend.

Eventually, I had gathered the handful of women that were not strong enough to fight and the elders who no longer could fight and began running them inside.

'Take the children from their beds, wake them if you can. I don't care as long as you get them to the safe room and lock the doors. no one leaves!'

I gave further instructions to an older lady whose name I didn't know to take everyone's name so that when this battle is over we can account for everyone missing or dead. I watched as they all ran inside counting the people that went inside. I stood guarding the door from any rouge wolf until everyone was inside. my wolf was taking over and I could feel the shift in my eyes as my vision became narrowed like she was preparing to attack.

I shut the door from the house and as the lock clicked into place a silver seal formed itself around the door, I looked around in confusion to see a witch on the inside who had helped with today's preparations sealing each of the doors and the windows. No one could get in or out. I nodded my head in thanks before turning to watch the carnage in front of me worsen. I began running to start fighting, before stopping in my tracks as two large beasts fought each other, scratching at each other's snouts and ripping clumps of fur from their body. Finally, the larger wolf ripped out the rouge throat before turning to me, blood on his nose and bowing his head in my directions. Beta Ben.

Ben ran off back into the woods as I headed towards the left side of the grounds. My shoes were still slipping into the snow so I decided to rip off the shoes leaving them stranded in the snow, along with the extra fabric from my train which I tore off the skirt of my dress, leaving my legs bare and exposed to the bitter air.

I took off into a sprint on high alert for any rouge wolves creeping from behind bushes or the building dotted around the grounds. My eyebrows furrowed when I saw a browned hair girl, who should be locked inside with the rest, standing at the entrance to the weapon center, shutting the door and holding a bow and arrow, Anna.

"Anna, what the bloody hell are you doing? Get inside and get safe now." I ordered her. Her head turned towards me, her eyes widening like a dear in the headlights.

"Harper, I cant I need to fight." I walked towards her in big strides, snatching the bow from her grip.

"you will get yourself killed out here, you are an unshifted she-wolf, not to mention the King's sister. Get inside.'

"with all due respect your highness, No." she snatched the bow back from my grip. My eyebrows shot up in anger.

"No?" I growled. An overwhelming power came over me that resonated through my core. "you will go inside Anna. You will be safe." A low growl erupted from behind me and a grey wolf with red eyes began charging towards Anna and I. Without thinking I jumped in front of her grabbing the bow back from her hand and an arrow from behind her back, jumping into the air to fire a shot directly into the wolf's heart before landing firmly onto my feet with snow bouncing from the ground at the impact of my body weight.
