Everything was hurting. My head was pounding, my throat was dry. Darkness consumed me. A constant beeping resonated through my ears. The faint sound of voices could be heard but I didn't have the energy to open my eyes to see who it was and my mouth felt glued shut so I couldn't ask them to be quiet. Something was wrong I couldn't quite tell at this point but the nervous feeling building up in my stomach solidified that something was most defiantly wrong.
Eventually, I felt my eyes start to peel open, the fluorescent light flooding my irises forcing me to close them again and open them gradually in a poor attempt to adjust to the light. Sudden pain on my abdomen struck my body, a pain stronger than before one that I didn't notice before. I bit down on the inside of my mouth in an attempt to conceal the scream of pain that begged to be released.

My upper arm throbbed with continuous pain, I turned my head to look down at the needle penetrating my skin that flooding my body with a strange discoloured liquid. Without hesitation I tore the needs from my arm, blood drop hit the floor of the room but the wound healed fast. A growl left my mouth, alerting everyone to my sudden movement.
Ben was the first to move. He looked tired. His hair was a mess and his eyes were swollen black, his frame had lost shape and his cheeks hollow from lack of food.

"What happened?" I raised from my lying position and swung my legs over the side in an attempt to stand but dizziness consumed me causing my body to fall back to the bed.

"Careful Jackson." Ben darted over to catch my balance. He helps raised me to my feet which I was thankful for.

I repeated my previous question which anyone was reluctant to answer.
"If no one will answer that, where's Harper?" Again the room stayed quiet. Something felt wrong. I couldn't sense her. I examined the faces in the room, all wearing the same weary sad expression and none looking me in the eye.
"Where the fuck is my mate?" I roared, my anger piercing through the swollen silence in the room.

"Jackson. Harper's-" ben paused a clear struggle in his voice which only added to my anxiety.

"Both you and Harper have been out for a while, you showed signs of getting better and healed from your wounds, your vitals kept improving. Harper, on the other hand, only got worse as you got better. You've been out for three months, there was a brief moment where you woke up but you fell back into your coma shortly after. Harper she- she's not in a good state. She is fading and fast. We don't know what to do."

"You don't know what to do! What do you mean you don't know what to do? My mate is dying and you don't know what to do!" My voice was loud and echoed throughout the rooms of the hospital room. "What the fuck happened 3 months ago?"

I looked around the room at the exhausted faces everyone looking back with a deep sadness in their eyes. Each of them clearly feeling the same pain of the possible thought of losing their Luna.
"I need to see her! Where is she?"

"Jackson" Ben dared to step forward but  I knocked him backward causing him to fall back slightly due to his weakened form

"Jackson just sit down, just let me explain everything." He stammered as he gripped onto the side table in order to stable himself.
"We discovered a lot while you were under, there was a lot investigation, a lot of false lead but we got there in the end, discovered what happened, but we lost Harper and you in the time. We searched high and low for something to help you both.  Harper lost consciousness a couple of days after you did and none of it made sense. We all thought that Clive was the ringmaster behind everything but it wasn't, he was just the pawn in a bigger game.  It was Alex, he was behind it all. He took your family, your mate. All in an attempt to replace you."

"What do you mean nothing was meant to happen to her." Ben's face turned a drastic white as the colour drained from his face due to the flood of anger entering his body. His lips twitching in anger and snarl erupted from the pursed look on his face. He watched as Alex's face turned a similar colour but out of fear, Alex stepped over the lifeless body of Harper in order to create as much distance between him and the Royal Beta.
Pushing his hands out in front of him, Alex did his best in order to create a protecting form around him.
