"Camz come on, we're gonna be late," Lauren said, running into Camila's room to make sure her best friend was getting ready like she was suppose to.

"Wait! Don't come in! I'm not ready for you to see yet Lolo!" Camila said, jumping behind her bed to shielding her from letting Lauren see her as the older opened the door without hearing the girl's yell of protest.

"Camila what the hell are you doing behind your bed? Why are you hiding from me?" Lauren asked confused but laughing none the less at Camila's actions.

"Because you can't see me yet Laur! You're not suppose to know about your party at all so it makes sense that you shouldn't see me!" Camila explained as if it were common sense for her best friend to not be able to see her yet.

"They should've known not to tell you about the party, we tell each other everything so they should've figured I would've found out about it," Lauren said, laughing at the girl's tone of voice.

"Yeah, well they did. And my mom and your's would both be really pissed at me if they knew you know. So please just pretend to be surprised like we practiced," Camila said from behind the bed, her voice high as she practically begged her best friend to conform to what she'd just said.

"Fine, fine, I'll go. But you have three minutes until I come back and help you finish getting ready weirdo," Lauren said, walking back out of the room so that Camila could finish getting ready.  She didn't know but this was about to be her best birthday ever, she was turning eighteen years old, and she was so excited about this.  She and Camila were in the same grade, due to the fact that the younger of the two was insanely smart and skipped the third grade, so they were both going into the twelfth grade and  high school with each other.  She'd never tell anyone this but she was terrified of going into their senior year, but she was even more afraid for Camila , she was quiet and kept to herself, she closed herself off and really didn't talk to anyone other than Lauren and Dinah. The only reason that she even talked to them is because they all lived right by each other, if they didn't chances are Camila never would've had the courage to talk to them at all.

Camila yelled a quick thank you before getting out from behind her bed to finish getting ready.  She was wearing a white red crop top and a pair of white high waisted jeans that she'd gotten directly for Lauren's party.  She was so excited to celebrate her best friend's birthday with her, Lauren had done so much for the younger girl since they were younger and just wanted the girl's birthday to be perfect.  To be fair, Lauren could have treated Camila the way everyone else did but she'd still want her to have the perfect birthday, she always has and always would want the best for her best friend.

"Camz can I come in now? I'm getting bored of standing outside the door," Lauren said, her voice being muffled by the closed door.

"Yeah. Come on Lo," Camila said after giving herself one more look in the mirror to make sure she looked okay. She always made the extra effort to look good when she knew Lauren would be around, even if her best friend had absolutely no clue what's what she did.

"Okay, come on Camzi my parents just texted me, it's probably fine for the-holy shit," Lauren cut herself off, looking up from her phone as she saw Camila in front of her. With her hair in a loose braid to the right side of her face and more of her midriff showing more than she was usually comfortable with, Camila thought somethings as wrong with how she looked.

"Hey, hey what are you doing Camz, why are you trying to cover up? What's the matter?" Lauren asked as she walked over and stilled Camila's movements to try and put a hoodie over her shirt to cover herself.
