Authors note:
X reader: You as a reader is this character, she is you. You are her. Unless you fantasise about the x reader being someone else other than you. Not my problem. You do you. As you have control over the x reader's appearance, I control her behaviour, likings and other quite irrelevant stuff that will make this story just exquisite. Yes, I have such high expectations and such a high self-esteem. Nah, I'm joking, don't get triggered.
The character in question (x reader) is a Gryffindor. She is a Pureblood and is starting year 6. She will go after the name (your/name). Her pet is a black cat, Midnight. She sucks at Potions but has quite the talent for the Dark Arts. She likes the dark and is both an introvert and extrovert when it fits. She's a sarcastic little bitch though. However she overanalyses and overthinks everything. Blaise Zabini is her best friend and Draco Malfoy is her rival. She has been in love with him for years, yet they are enemies. She's friends with the golden trio but she's not too close to any of them, except for maybe Hermione. Winter is the best holiday according to her because the decorations and the food during this holiday is just divine. Her parents passed away only days after she started year 3 because of the fact that they were death eaters. They had received the dementors kiss for it. Even though the parents of the character were Slytherins she was surprisingly as mentioned above, sorted into Gryffindor. She is cunning yet fearless. She wasn't at all what her parents were. In fact, she pretty much despised them, they had never cared for her anyway. Everyone knew who her parents were, but no one knew who she was.--------------------------------------------
The dark grey sky opened up, fearlessly, as the rain poured down from boring sky. I let my eyes rest on a droplet of water on the window of the Hogwarts Express. With a heavy sigh I changed my sitting position slightly and instantly regretted it. Besides me my cat was resting, sleeping peacefully and I smiled a little whilst looking at her. My compartment was empty and cold and outside in the corridor of the train I could hear the trolley lady coming closer and closer. I rolled my eyes when she stuck her head inside my compartment.
"Anything from the trolley, dear?"
"No", I responded coldly. I was surprised by my tone and quickly added "thank you".
She nodded and disappeared to the next compartment.
I turned my head towards the window again, it had started to rain stronger. The journey to Hogwarts, my real home, was long and to pass the time I counted counted the seconds it took for the water drops to roll down the window. Suddenly a huge shadow was cast on the window and I looked up. Hogwarts. Here it was, in all it's glory. The train slowly decreased in speed and I started to gather all the things and put them into its right place. My wand in the pocket of my robe, my robe on me and the suitcase handle held tight in my right hand. Midnight had woken up and jumped up on the suitcase, meowing loud as if to tell me that I almost forgot her. I scoffed and stroked her back lightly.
"I'm sorry Midnight, you know I love you" I said quietly to her.
I lost balance as the train stopped, yet I was sitting down. 'Great start to the new year' I thought to myself.

Someone had yelled my name the second I had gotten off the train. I turned around, only to see Blaise. His smile grew bigger as I ran towards him and hugged him tightly.
"I missed you so much" I said to him as we let go of each other. I punched his shoulder jokingly.
"I missed you too"
"Yet you didn't write me a single letter throughout the whole summer, asshole" I smirked at him.
"Well I-"
"Zabini!"
I heard someone familiar. Blaise turned around and as I looked over his shoulder I saw the familiar platinum blonde hair.
"Oh fuck me" I said a little too loud and Blaise turned around again, smirking.
"Literally or..?"
"Oh piss off" I said holding my laughter in.
"I've got to go, Malfoy wants to talk to me. I'll see you at dinner." He spun around and walked quickly to Malfoy; following him, Crabbe and Goyle towards the castle.
***
The Gryffindor common room was crowded and the heat from the students and the open fire hit me like a wave. I took a deep breath and walked into the girls dormitory. Whilst unpacking my luggage Midnight jumped up on the bed from behind me. As a reflex I had drawn my wand.
"Don't do that!" I hissed at her, putting my wand back into my robe, whilst trying to slow my breathing. Midnight always disappears only to show up when you expect it the least.Hermione walked in and hugged me quickly, telling me to hurry up to the dinner. I nodded in response and gave her an awkward smile.
