Alicia Beth Moore more commonly recognized as P!nk, was born on September 8th 1979, and grew up in Doylestown Pennsylvania. She has a older brother Jason Moore. Her parents Judith and Jim Moore divorced when Alicia was just 8 years old. Jim Moore had to sell his gold Rolex to help pay for child support.
Alicia used music to help with the divorce she said it was "the only way I could get my parents to stop fighting". Alicia started to rebel, she started smoking at 9 years old, started smoking weed when she was only 11 years old, started dropping acid at 12 years old, and by 13 you couldn't name a drug that she didn't do. While her mom was at work she turned the house into a keg house and would cook the drugs and sell the drugs that she made.
While Alicia was throwing one of these parties she was singing in her room and people recognized that and asked her to be their lead singer for their band. The band that she joined was called Middle-ground. She painted her room black and would write dark poems. She always listened to her idol, Linda Perry from 4 non blondes, she said that Linda Perry sang about what how she felt. Alicia started sneaking out and had a fake ID at 13.
One night she basically overdosed on everything. Her friend was was trying to get her to wake up and stand up and said that she had to sing. She got up and started singing Mary J Blige. The DJ said that she can sing and said that he would give her a guest spot if she came back drug free. She never did drugs again after that night.
That next Friday night Alicia went to the Philadelphia club and was on stage in front of a big crowd that was yelling "white b***h get the f**k of the stage who the f**k do you think you are". Soon they heard that she can actually sing and started cheering for her.
