Dear, diary

My name is Mia and I am 19 years old. The reason I am writing in this stupid book is simply because my therapist said it would help to record down everything that happens to me while I remember it. I find it stupid to do this since I will be the only one to ever have access to this book and I'm pretty sure that what happened before will never happen again. I guess I should start from the beginning of what I remember and how it has come to me writing in this diary.

JANUARY 18, 2012

In the small dusty room of the attic there laid a small sleeping girl on an old rusted iron bed. Though her situation wasn't the best the small girl seemed to be sleeping peacefully. Her long blonde hair spread over the ragged pillows causing an almost angelic look to her sleeping face. This girl was Mia Wilmington and she was only 14 years old. Suddenly a loud banging filled the room and Mia jolted awake from the noise. "Mia you better get up! I will not have you late for your first day of high school!" an loud old sounding voice yelled out. Mia yawned stretching as she called out "Okay Mom be right down." She got up placing her glasses on and grabbed her clothes. Today's outfit consisted of a black tank top, a large blue pullover hoodie and a faded pair of ripped jeans.
She grabbed her faded backpack and headed downstairs. Her mom was waiting for her with an apple in hand "sorry honey no breakfast today." Mia just smiles softly "its okay mom really. Ill be home late tonight because I promised George I'd work late." Her mom sighs and pulls her into a hug, placing the apple into her hand. "Just be careful okay? You never know what might be out there." "I promise Mom and if it's dark I'm sure Jessie would give me a ride." Her mom lets her go and she heads out the door walking to her new school eating the apple on the way there.

Reaching the school Mia could tell she was already late which she knew wouldn't make such a good impression on her first day.  She walked through the doors and towards the office which was easy to get to since as soon as you entered the building there was a door with huge black letters on the glass saying Office. She entered in and was greeted by the lady sitting at the desk. She didn't look like the typical school secretary instead she was young with short hair dyed blue and a pierced nose. "Hello how can I help you?" Mia snapped out of her little daze it was too often that she got caught up in observing things she often forgot where she was. "Oh sorry, I'm new here my name is Mia Wilmington." The secretary smiled and opened a file drawer pulling out a folder "Okay so in this folder is the map of the school, your schedule, your locker number along with the combination, and the student ID card that you'll use at the library and lunch time." Mia nods her head taking the folder. "Do you want a tour guide or do you think you'll be okay finding your way around?" "I think I'll be okay finding my way around." The secretary nodded closing the drawer back. "Enjoy your time here at Falconview High." Mia nods before taking out the map to go and find her locker. As she exited she could of have sworn she saw the secretary's eyes change to a golden color before quickly changing back.

It didn't take long for Mia to find her locker and when she opened it a bunch of notes spilled out onto the ground. She sighed picking them up and placing them back into the locker. Curious if they belonged to the past locker owner she opened one and it read "they're not normal. Everyone here can't be trusted. Get out before its too late." Frowning Mia gathered all the notes and threw them in the near by trash can. "Probably just a stupid prank." She mumbled as she placed the stuff not needed for her first class into the locker and closed the door. As she headed to her first class she felt as if someone was someone was watching her. As she was walking down the hall not watching where she was going she bumped into someone causing her to crash to the ground and drop all her things to the floors along with her glasses. She groaned as she hits the floor, she wasn't expecting for the person that she bumped into to feel like a brick wall.  "Hey! You need to watch where you're g-..." She heard someone say as they paused. "So-sorry I didn't mean to bump into you, I'm just kinda lost." She tries to see the person who was in front of her but only saw a blurry figure. The person chuckles as they reach a hand out to her with something in it "Here, I don't think you can see without these." Mia blushes at the sound of the deep voice and takes what she assumes is her glasses from the person in front of her. She puts them on and stares at the person in front of her "Uh...t-t-thanks for giving these to me." With such a deep voice she hadn't been expecting the person in front of her to be a woman. "It's no problem...are you new here?" she asked as she bent down and started helping pick up Mia's stuff that had fell down. "Yeah ...my mom and me just moved to town and I had to wait before i could st-start attending." She rambled a bit but the woman didn't seem to mind. "Well I'm glad to have met you Sunshine" "Mia...my name is Mia." The woman smiled standing up and offering a hand to Mia. "I'm Jax hope you don't mind me calling you sunshine." Mia takes her hand standing up "I don't mind it....it just means we're friends now right?" Jax chuckles "yeah friends. So where you heading to Sunshine?" she asks casually leaning against the wall "Ummm... English 1, Ms. Liberal's room?" "Oh I know where that's at, I'll take you there." Mia smiles at her gratefully for her help. This school was confusing and it was nice to already have someone being nice to her. Jax takes her hand and leads her through the halls to the classroom. Mia blushes as Jax leads her by her hand she just expected her to tell her to follow her not grab her hand. Jax stopped in front of a door that was painted green "here's your stop sunshine. I hope to be seeing you around soon?" Mia nods her head "s-sure, see you around." Jax smiles and leaves walking down the hallway. Sighing in relief Mia enters the classroom and the teacher immediately pauses in her lesson "you're late miss...." "Mia Wilmington, and I was lost since I'm new." "Well Ms.wilmington that's understandable since this school is so big especially if you've never been  here. Take a seat by Zack. Zack please raise your hand." A young looking boy with black hair cut into a nice looking crew cut dressed in a white dress shirt raises his hand. Mia walks over to the empty desk next to him by the window and takes a seat. "Nice to meet you Mia, I'm Zach and welcome to Falconview high."
Mia smiles brightly at him and pulls out a notebook to take notes on what Ms. Liberals was teaching, the whole time Mia couldn't shake off a feeling of being watched.
