12 hours after the Quinceañera 

Beep... Beep... Beep...

The heart monitor beeped normally, calming the nurses down.

"She seems stable, for now. We stitched up the wound in her chest, after plenty of rest she should be okay." The nurse smiled, holding the back of her hand to Olivia's forehead. 

"What about Ruby?" Cesar asked eagerly.

The nurse held her hand to her lips softly and sighed. "W-We recovered the bullet from his chest but-"

"-but what?!" Cesar snapped at the nurse, making her jump.

"The bullet was found extremely close to his heart. It will take time for us to figure out how we're going to help him, trust me. We're trying our best." she said softly.

Cesar buried his face into his blood-stained hands. Ruby's blood, to be exact. He carried Ruby onto the ambulance gurney after they got there. 

"I'm sorry Ruby." he whispered to his unconscious body.

2 hours later...

She cupped her hands into the sink and poured the water down her face. She took an hour-long shower to rid her body from the blood and tears that were shed that night. 

"You alright in there, baby?" Her Dad called from the other side of the door as he knocked lightly. 

"...Yes." Monse replied softly, hiding her silent sulks. 

"If you need anything... I'm in the other room, okay?" He asked.

She held her hand to her mouth, trying to hold in her tears. "Okay, Dad. I love you."

"Love you too."

She could hear his steps becoming fainter and fainter before a thought came to mind. "Wait, Dad could you come back for a second?"

A few seconds later, her Dad was leaning against the bathroom door again. "Yes?"

"Is it alright if I go to the hospital? I want to check up on Ruby and Olivia." she said softly. 

"Of course, baby."

The nurse walked back into the room and saw Cesar, sleepily watching over Ruby's unconscious body. "I'm sorry sir, visiting hours have ended already. I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to l-" 

"-let him be. He's a Santos." the other nurse whispered hastily and quietly.

The other nurse immediately shuddered. "I'm sorry, you can stay as long as you want."

Both nurses scurried out of the room, without a trace.

"I'm so fucking sorry, Ruby." Cesar sighed, leaning his head against Ruby's arms. 

Moment later, the door opened once again. Not revealing a concerned nurse, reveling a concerned Monse.

She stumbled backwards after seeing Cesar "O-Oh sorry. I didn't know you were here. I'll come back later." she was about to turn around and walk out the door until she saw the pain in Cesar's eyes. He needed someone right now.

"Stay. Please."
