In a country where there are far too many
In a place I once had been
In A dark time of many lives
That I can't say I have seenThere was a fool proof plan they made
To resolve a looming tsunami
Thinking to control what can't be controlled
They tried to manipulate lives like origamiTo restrict peoples' right to their future
Their rights to have a family
Allowing only one child per one pair
Very drastic it may seemThey were thinking for the whole nation
In an effort to fix the wrong
However things became worse for many
And people couldn't get alongIn a nation of work and pride
Males were the prized
Selective breeding, illegal abortions, abandonment
Such terrible results from a plan thought so wiseWhat a foolish law was passed
That was so obviously a mistake
And as a nation they suffered
Far beyond they could contemplateFor the 10 years of the law
Few females were born or raised
In happy, content families in their lands
And yet the leader were still not phasedUntil the problem became out of hand
They insisted to stay ignorant and blind
And now they feel the consequences
And wish they had changed their mindNow abolished and recovering from the loss
Their mistake is for us to learn from
The whole globe will become over populated
Until we fix our wrongsHowever as a sexist world we must sit and think, hard and long
To think of every flaw
So their mistakes don't repeat
And it doesn't just become another broken law
