BLATANTLY, YOU ARE NOT DEFINED BY TRIVIAL THINGS.

i want you to know something, your past mistakes may burn brightly in the depths of
your mind- but they do not determine who you are and what you're going to do.

i know it's difficult, labels && predefined moments play a bigger role in our lives. as teachers, classmates, family, and friends seem to always let them linger. as hard as it may be— in the end, their opinions don't matter: yours does.

no matter what, you need to be satisfied with the person looking in the mirror. all of them? let them worry about that task, themselves. eventually, they will move on, they have to. but at the end of the day, you have to live with yourself— and not them. so don't cloud your judgement with the statements of those around you. you have to understand that:
they. don't. define. you.

e v e r y d a y,  you make new choices that begin to shape who you are. everyday— is a new day, a new door, and a new opportunity to be better than you were prior. we oft' let our mistakes hang off our shoulders like a dead weight, dragging us further and further down. simply put; that holds us back from the change we can act upon.

it's almost as though we subconsciously begin using those past actions as an excuse to not move forward, all because: "i can't." "it won't work." "i've already messed up." this? this is unacceptable. only when we let ourselves become consumed with those thoughts are we truly defined by- in the long run- inconsequential snippets of previous times. there's a reason that those things occurred in the past

let yourself live, learn, and keep walking.

labels are nothing more than mere words, whilst they may, at the time, feel so much more cumbersome, they are just words. they do not describe the wonder you hold in your heart. they can never understand the turmoil you've faced. and they are never ever accurate, to the point of everlasting relevance. they are vague, condescending, and things you need not waste your energy on.

don't give those labels power over you, don't let them become more. you give them truth by allowing them to worm into your heart, corrupt it, and break you down. they are like money, only worth what we put into it, what we believe is to be merited. let me say this: labels/stereotypes, none, not even the 'good' ones- are deserving of anybody. they shove diverse, unique, and beautiful people into generalized cages. which is completely and surely unjust, with unrealistic expectations held against kid's throats. don't let this trend continue within yourself.

mistakes are necessary in character. nobody, absolutely nobody is perfect. thank the heavens for it, otherwise nobody would learn to flourish, nobody would strengthen themselves, nobody would understand what true love && beauty is. remember this.

believe that you can do better. believe that you owe yourself the chance to, at least, try again. and believe that change is in your hands.

understand that you are going to mess up. understand that you will grow in the process. and understand that you have more strength than you know.

you are so much more than your mistakes.

you have the opportunity to start anew. stop holding yourself back.
