After about 30 minutes, Harry and Zayn entered the main door. Zayn was texting with his earphone on but still managed to say hello to the crew. And there was Harry, “the mayor”, was waving at and hugging everyone. It seemed like he missed everyone even though they’ve just seen each other 2 days ago. This dude is a little bit clingy. It’s funny. He high-fived, fist-bumped, chest-bumped, hugged and waved. When he saw me, he high-fived me but our hands were still against each other even after the high-fived, while we were talking. We got so caught up by the moment that we forgot we were still on high-five.
“It’s a surprise to see you here, George! What gives?” Harry exclaimed.
“Can’t I just be here randomly?” I sarcastically said, joking of course.
He nodded and raised his hands to show that he was guilt-free. It seemed like he was saying “I’ve got nothing against you.” I just punched his arm then we both laughed.
“But seriously, you guys shouldn’t hang-out with me that much because I’m getting attached,” I said.
“It’s okay to get attached, you know?” Harry said. “It’s not like we’re going to forget about each other after all this, right?”
“There are just so many things that –“I got cut off by Paul, their choreographer, who called Harry for rehearsals. That was the only time our hands separated. It was so awkward because all of the boys were looking in our direction.
Watching the rehearsals was fun. Every time Paul got the chance to get the boys to focus their attention to the dance, which was like once in an hour, he would sigh so deep. He looked stress but in a funny and not in an annoyed way.
Since I was alone in the audience seats during rehearsals, the band, who weren’t rehearsing yet since the lads were still having dance practice, accompanied me for an hour or so. They were so cool. We talked about music, tours, school and other stuff. Some of them already performed for really popular and amazing celebrities but they were like, “But these boys (referring to One Direction) are definitely the best.”
They told me some of their tour stories and they were hilarious! We were laughing and stuff when suddenly, Sandy’s face turned weird, shocked. I then noticed that water was slowly dripping on his face. Louis’s fault. The boys who were on stage staring at us, Paul, the other members of the band and some others laughed pricelessly. I was so shocked because it was weird. I remembered the time when Katie and I watched This Is Us, where they threw water and food to each other. I thought all that was scripted and fake. I never really expected that the boys and the band were this close.
“It’s a normal thing,” Jon said to me, patting my back. He probably saw my puzzled face.
“I can see that,” I said, while still trying to absorb what just happened.
They were still trying to calm down while I was still in the midst of confusion and understanding but I slowly laughed at the words and comments they threw each other. A few seconds later, while I was already getting the hang of “Rehearsals: One Direction Style”, it was over for me. Cold, icy water was dripping on my face. I couldn’t feel my scalp because of the ice. Niall did it. My mouth hung open. I was so shocked. I wasn’t ready for this. I didn’t even bring extra clothes. I would freeze out there. I wasn’t ready for the water fight but who cares? It was awesome! I then picked-up Liam’s water bottle which was in his bag, right beside me. I removed the cap, I stood up and got revenge. I just randomly poured the water on the heads of random people while running after some people I don’t even know. It was a mess. Everyone equipped themselves with bottles of water. It was definitely an unforgettable experience. We were all running around the arena-like studio or something. I felt like I’ve known these guys since forever. I feel so sorry for whoever would clean the place because it was really wet. Harry’s curly hair was soaking wet. Katie was right. He did look like Tarzan with his hair down. It was my first time to see Zayn’s hair messed up. It was funny because he did his best to save his hair from the water while we were running. After 20 minutes, we stopped. We had to. They had a show after tomorrow and they had practiced only 10% for the first 5 hours. Paul, their tour manager, had to make things serious. If they didn’t practice yet, they wouldn’t be able to finish since they still had to spare time for lunch and dinner. They were given 10 minutes to change while the maintenance personnel were cleaning the area.
