  yelling.

flailing.

tears.

gem shards.

all she saw was her lover's broken gem, it's bright glow dimming. her voice caught in her throat. she couldn't speak, she couldn't cry.

wake up, wake up, WAKE UP.

lavender jumped up, panting. she felt wet tears trailing down her cheeks. then the sobbing started.

she couldn't stop, she couldn't control herself.

she looked frantically back at ocean laying beside her, making sure she was there, making sure she was alive.

ocean started to stir. her eyes slowly opened. her eyes locked with lavender's, and when she realized what was happening, she jumped up as well. she quickly wrapped her arms around, embracing her tightly and warmly. lavender felt around for ocean's gem, running her hand across it to make sure there were no cracks. she relaxed into ocean's arm when she found nothing.

lavender cried into ocean's neck for a few more minutes before her sobs faded and she was only shaking and scared.

ocean cradled lavender's face, and looked deeply into her eyes.

"it's ok. i'm ok. you're ok." she said softly.

lavender melted into her touch.

ocean wrapped the blanket around her and got up.

"i'll be right back, lavender. i'll be in the kitchen, please don't worry." she told lavender. she slid off the bed and walked into the kitchen.

about ten minutes passed before ocean returned again. lavender was still nervously shaking on the bed. in ocean's hand was a hot cup of chamomile tea. she handed the cup to lavender, indicating she should drink it. lavender took a sip.

the next two hours were filled with ocean comforting lavender. soft kisses, gentle touches, comforting words. it was awhile before lavender fell asleep to ocean singing disney songs.

the moon was still high in the sky. ocean looked over to her alarm clock. it was 2 am.

she gently laid lavender down on her side of the bed and pulled the blanket over her. she softly kissed her forehead before laying down herself.

ocean grabbed lavender's hand so she would wake up knowing she was there with her.

soon, she drifted off.

the rest of the night was a peaceful sleep for both of them
