Ara waited by the park. It was April and the weather was still cold and there was a slight snow shower. She wore high wasted jeans, a cropped sweater with a light dark green jacket and her favorite pair of brown Ugs. She would rather be comfortable when watching the philharmonic and not worrying if her dress was riding up. Plus, the jeans pressed on her stomach and the sweater hid her love handles, making her appear slimmer than she actually was.
It was 16:07 when Taehyung finally arrived. He bore a tired face but nonetheless he looked happy to be there. He wore black jeans and a buttoned up indigo shirt with fancy black dress shoes. To top it all off, he had a large black trench coat on. He looked spiffy, and Ara suddenly felt self conscious.
"Damn, now I feel overdressed." Taehyung cheekily smiled. Ara zipped up her jacket and swung her right leg.
"And I feel underdressed so I guess we both feel awful now." Ara laughed a bit. She ignored the oddness of the aura around them. "It'll be dark anyway so it's not like it matters what we wear."
"I guess so," Taehyung grabbed Ara's hand which she awkwardly wanted to slide out of. But his skin felt smooth and comforting so she stopped resisting and let her fingers intertwine with his. This is innocent, nothing bad is happening. And she began to let her emotions run wild.
                              "Let's get moving."

The car ride was silent. Not necessarily bad. It was actually quite tranquil. Ara enjoyed it and she only spoke when Taehyung asked her little questions.
Finding a parking spot was a daunting task but Taehyung eventually found one behind a coffee shop just five blocks away from the Seoul Arts Center. It was 17:35 and the show didn't start until another hour and a half so Taehyung decided to treat Ara to some dinner.
Again, he held her hand except this time he brought her in closer.
                              "Why are you doing this?"
"Doing what?" Taehyung knew what she was referring to. His gestures of affection. They were intentional and held some meaning but in the end, he was just trying to help her get rid of her insecurities. No strings attached, and the heaviness of his heart couldn't tell him otherwise.
"Why are you acting like you're my boyfriend? Y'know you don't have to do that." She said quietly. She bit her bottom lip and pursed them into a thin line. She had long bangs that covered the top of her eyes and Taehyung found it difficult to gaze into them with sincerity.
"I know but you need a little love in your life. And I think you need to know that you're able to capture the attention of people. I'm extremely handsome after all and you got me." He chuckled. Ara didn't find this amusing though. She slipped her hand out from his grasp and tucked her hands in her pockets. She would feel more at ease this way.
"Thanks," She said. "But I don't need it."
She continued to walk alongside him in silence. Taehyung was in deep thought. He couldn't understand her. He was trying, he really was. They arrived at a casual diner and they sat by the window in a booth. The snow had gotten heavier and it made a small pile against the petals of some flowers. Ara scrutinized the work of nature. A small smile adorned her features and Taehyung captured this moment as a memory. He took off his trench coat and laid it beside him. He took his phone out and snapped a quick photo of Ara. She looked so lost in her own world. The memory could be kept in digital form as well. No harm, right? Plus, she looked relaxed for once.
"So, what do you want to eat?" Taehyung asked, gaining Ara's attention. She gawked at him and she merely gave a simple shrug.
"I don't know. I'm honestly not really hungry." She lied. Taehyung knew this and he was tired of her problems ruining their time together. He wanted to have fun and she was being difficult.
