She looked at him with cold eyes. Her hand left his and the autumn wind made way up her spine. Her lips quivered as she tried to force a smile. "Don't lie," she said.

Taehyung reached out for her but she stepped back. He noticed the hurt she was going through. The endless pain of insecurity was so clearly seen. The moonlight highlighted her tears, making them seem so gleaming as they dripped down her cheeks and onto her lips. "I'd never lie to you, Ara."

She shook her head and turned away. She dropped her ring that promised faithfulness. The metal made a woeful echo as it hit the pavement. She walked the opposite direction to no particular destination. She was tired, hungry and desperate for solitude.

Taehyung picked up the ring and clutched it in has hand. He didn't try to stop her. It wouldn't be right. Ara needed to figure out on her own how to appreciate herself. He couldn't be relied on and as much as that pained him, it was true. The world is cruel and if one day he was stripped from her, she'd still have that comfort and confidence to keep her going.

"Ara," He whispered. The vagueness of the dark had no affect on him. He was neither sad nor angry. He felt nothing. He held the ring up against the night sky. It glimmered and sparkled. He smiled and put it back in his pocket. He started walking home, his head hung low and ears filled with solemn music. He thought to himself the words he wanted to tell Ara that never left his heart. He sighed, "I love you." And he let the coolness of autumn guide him home.
