"To be beautiful," His lips turned upward and his eyes glistened under the flame of the chandelier. "Beauty is something extraordinary; something so different for everyone. Beauty can be chocolate eyes and pink lips or blonde hair and a crooked smile. You can't define it." His mouth moved perfectly and his voice was enchanting. He put his flash cards down and turned to the small group of adolescents. "So when someone tells you that you have a perfect smile and have pretty hair, you are the definition of beauty to them. If they hold your hand and compliment the smoothness, don't shy away and say 'thank you'." He turned to the girls in the classroom briefly. But then his eyes trailed over to the boys who looked a little lost.
"No one in this classroom of the male sex is handsome," Taehyung had a wide grin on his face. "So don't feel cocky whenever you speak. Bring your heads down a bit. Your nose doesn't need to be that high and stuck up in the clouds." Jin, a well known student, was about to protest when Taehyung shot him a glare. "And I don't think you noticed, gentlemen, any girl here deny what I have just said. But if you look at this one in particular," He pointed to a round faced girl. Her cheeks were rosy and her bangs covered her big blue eyes. "She looked at one of you and said 'that's not true'. I won't reveal to whom but she just denied what I have just said. Although I said that none of you had handsome features, she objected quietly. She finds one of you attractive.
I cannot say if it's physical attraction, or if it has to do with their personality, but she finds one of these characteristics beautiful."
Taehyung sat on his desk and continued speaking. He had a deep connection to this topic. He always did and he loved teaching it to his students, even for just one day. He was able to tap into their minds and force them to look at beauty in a different way. He himself didn't believe in most of his words but it held some truth. Beauty really can't be defined on a person. Maybe an object like a rose but then again its thorns are quiet annoying.
The bell rung and everyone in his classroom left, except for one. Taehyung noticed her presence and was a little confused. Usually this topic didn't inquire questions. It was one for listening and deep understanding. He turned to her and smiled, "How can I help you?"
She looked a little down, and her eyes were turning a little red. "Why talk about beauty?"
                              "Why not talk about it?"
"It's stupid," Her nose turned pink and she looked up at Taehyung. She had chubby cheeks and dark brown eyes. Her lips were a bit chapped and he could see her second chin. She was a little chubby, and he couldn't help but find her adorable. "The whole thing is triggering y'know."
"Triggering?" That was a slang word, right?
"Look at me," She dropped her bags and stood firmly. Her dark short curls messily pressed against the side of her cheeks. Her bangs were a bit sloppy and uneven and her legs were short and stubby. She looked normal, what was wrong? "I'm not beautiful. I'm fat, and I have rabbit teeth." She gave a forced smile. "I'm not much to look at and my personality is complete trash too. I'm mean and untalented. I have a sense of humor and an open-mind, which isn't bad but if I'm going to insult myself I might as well throw in at least one compliment." Taehyung laughed at that which angered the short girl. "I'm weak and an emotional wreck. I'm not pretty, you see?"
Taehyung listened to her well. Except for a few moments where he ignored her and found her upper stache a little funny. It reminded him of a little caterpillar. He sighed and patted her shoulder. "No," He finally said. "You're not pretty."
"What?" She was a little taken aback by this.
"But prettiness has nothing to do with beauty. Well, that would be a lie since it has some sort of factor to it. But my point is, how pretty you look doesn't affect your overall beauty." He walked behind his desk and grabbed his belongings. "And I don't think that your beautiful." He strapped his bag over his shoulder. He walked to the front door and gave the girl a last look. "I just think you're insecure."
