Hadiza!
You are late for work again! She rose immediately on hearing the word 'late'. She hurriedly entered the bathroom, took a quick shower and was out within two minutes, the weather was hot so she didn't bother creaming her body, she blow dried her hair then packed it a bun.
She wore a white shirt first, followed by a pleated skirt with flowery designs before moving on to the vanity to wrap her veil neatly then tucked her shirt into the skirt. She dabbed on her Kylie compressed powder in the shade dark on her face and applied chappet on small but full lips then she sprayed on her favorite perfume No. 5 Channel and finally wore a yellow stiletto to match her veil and some of the flowers on her skirt.
Being late was a norm for Hadiza Blair Malik, she had already gone downstairs when she remembered she didn't pick her car key, she quickly turned back and continued muttering 'car key' so as not to forget what took her back. The drive to her work place is about thirty minutes but it usually took her up to forty five minutes or even an hour sometimes due to traffic especially on days like Monday, she slowly sipped the hot coffee her Mom brew while waiting for the traffic and enjoyed as both the caffeine and music brought her body alive.
In order to distract herself from the traffic she just sang Rivers along with Ed Sheeran and Eminem after about fifteen minutes she parked in the parking lot of the company where she worked as fashion designer, she wasn't working for the pay which wasn't bad but because the fashion company needed her, she could design the most unique but beautiful clothing and accessories(shoes and bags).
She was highly creative and was considered as one of the backbones of the fashion company.
As she got down from her car, Sule the company gatekeeper, as usual complimented her.
'Wow....
Madam you look as elegant as always'
'Thanks Sule, Gashi ' She handed him a five hundred Naira note and headed to her office.
Her office was located on the last floor of the three storey building.
Just as she was settling down to work, the manager of the company, Miss Janine Andre, walked in with an obviously fake smile plastered on her face.
'Hello HBM' Janine greeted in her over high pitched voice which sounded more like a car tyre screech to Hadiza.'Hi Janine, How are you?
'I'm great as you can see' Hadiza took a quick glance at her and mentally shook her head, great indeed, a vibrant red trousers with green polka dots and a pink patterned blouse, her hair violet and her wedge green, on her neck was a multi-colour bead which looks more like something she got from a native doctor rather than a jewelry store, She wouldn't talk to her about it because she knew Janine well enough to know how she would start boasting of how expensive she bought it, she look more like a clown than an actual human, her make up is something Hadiza would talk about later.I just came to inform you about the seminar we'll be traveling for next week in Lagos, so get prepared'. She left Hadiza's office on delivering the message, she could have easily called her via intercom but she wanted to see her to remind her she's the boss and not her, She still couldn't understand why the company favours Hadiza, everything about her is so annoying, like she comes to work sometimes by 10am instead of 7am, and is as rude as anything.
She just shook the thought of Hadiza off her head she had better things to think about than the wench.
Hadiza in her office is preoccupied with the current design she's working on and lost track of the time until her friend Suhaima who works in the sewing department entered her office with a drink and Snack.'HBM' Suhaima called.
'Oh Suhaima, you are here, is it lunch time already? she replied without raising her head from what she's working on.'Sarkin Aiki, it's past Lunch time and just few minutes to Zuhr prayer.
She raised her head and noticed the drink and snack.
'Suhai, Is that Kunun Aya? She replied by nodding. 'thanks babe, just what I was just craving'She quickly took the drink and the snack(doughnut) so as not to miss Solat. And the two left the office together for the mid-day prayers.
