*HE*
His life is a mess, he was damaged and ruined beyond repairs, his father was a con artist, or so the world thinks, he tired being called the child of a fraudster, everyone avoided him like a plague, Even though his father had being labelled a fraudster he still considered him a hero, but because humans are ingrates they totally forgot about his good deeds and always talks about his only one mistake.
His father only had wanted vengeance, he wanted to avenge
what had been done to him and got himself almost killed and arrested, he is now serving his jail term in kuje medium prisons.
All his life he had been prejudged by people who neither knew him nor his father, he had been raised by his father and Lami, their maid, she was the closest figure to a mother, he knew next to nothing about his biological mother except that she was a Chadian and died of ovarian cancer when he was only two. He had been just fifteen when his father got jailed, the government seized everything his father owned and was left with next nothing so he had to take to the streets.
Most kids there on the street were drug addicts & pick pockets but he couldn't pick pockets because it was degrading and out of his values, he sometimes took codeine in forms of cough syrups like benylin, emzolyn and sometimes Tramadol, he knew his father will be disappointed if he ever gets to know he's into drugs but his father wasn't here and he has to survive by all means, he now does all sort of labour intensive jobs which he wasn't used to.
None of the kids there suited his personality except Bello, Bello had lost his parent to a plane crash three years ago when he was fourteen and was forced to leave the only place he knew as home because his father hadn't paid off the bank and the house was bought on mortgage. He and Bello bonded almost immediately when he first got to the camp where they slept, they went out during the day to work. Today is one of the few occasions when they did a little work for a high pay. They were to clean the dishes and the intestines of a ram and cow.
The Malik's house, no, manor was more like a fairytale than reality, the exterior was white, golden, and any other precious and pure colour you could think of. The interior was painted beige and silver, exquisite paintings, sculptures and drawings from distinguished artist sat on the wall, a huge crystal chandelier hung low from the ceiling, sparkling like diamonds in the sunlight, the atmosphere was scented with both local incense (bahur) from Maiduguri and Arab incense both for the purpose of purifying the house against jinns and freshening the air. People were moving around, everywhere was filled with people he suspected to be well wishers.
He was still looking around when a gorgeous girl of about fourteen or fifteen came out from nowhere, she was tall, too tall for her age, her clear dark skin shining like it was covered with gold dust, he looked down at her mermaid like figure and almost forgot himself, her hair was pulled back in a messy ponytail, all that hair... She definitely had fulani blood in her, he was studying her facial features, big doe-like eyes, straight pointed nose and her lips were moving, wait.... Was she talking to him? Of course she was, he mentally face palmed himself before he heard her asking,
'Ya Sunanka?
He wanted to tell her but his mouth seems to be faster than his brain.
'I heard you the first time' he heard himself saying and his legs were already carrying him to only God knows where. He met Bello and the backyard and they did their work.******
It's been weeks since he saw her, he doesn't even know her name yet couldn't get her off his mind, she was proud yet humble, innocent yet dangerous, he wasn't her type, she was a queen who deserved a king not him a delinquent son of a fraudster. Even though he knew he couldn't get her, he had to do something to make his life better, he had always hope to one day start a family, what he was doing now would take him nowhere. He decided to further his education for her sake, he wasn't sure there was going to be a 'them' but he had to make his life better anyways. She was his Horia, his Malika, his Angel.-----------------------------------------------------------
