Seasonal Love

Just as the autumn leaves are falling,

So have I fallen for you;

And just as the spring flowers will do,

My heart will be in full bloom.

For love is ever-changing, you see,

Just as the seasons are

With the trees, the flowers, and the leaves;

But, love, spring seems so far

I cannot say I love you now,

Only that I hope when fall ends

Our love won't turn a bitter brown

As the leaves do when spring comes around

For falling leaves look so beautiful,

Though they're a start to something dreary;

But in the end, the color fades

And what we once loved was only temporary
