The next day was hard. Jason went to school as always but he avoided talking to anyone even his girlfriend. He was nervous, didn't know what to do and when he tried to talk to Mia about it she would only say that life is tough and you gotta deal with it. Unfortunately that wouldn't be of any help to Jay.
Jason hurried without saying goodbye to anyone, even his girlfriend.
Wednesday was even more complicated, Jason didn't want to be at school at all, it was hard enough trying to deal with the full moon being today, but this was an important day for him, this was the day he would find out about himself.
So after the third period he went to the nursery.
He had to wait for the nurse to be back for a while.
But he wasn't alone.
Mysterious girl: So... what is a guy like you doing in a place like this?
Jason turns around and sees the girl he had bumped into the other day at school.
Mysterious girl: Oh so it's you, clumsy guy from the hall.
Jay: You don't know my name?
Mysterious girl: Well you don't know mine so it's only fair, don't you think?
Jay: I'm sorry for the other day. So what's your name?
Mysterious girl: It's fine, I'm Hanna.
Jay: It's nice to finally know your name.
Hanna: Yeah you too, well say it I mean.
So what are you doing here?
Jay: I'm sick I'm going home.
Hanna: Really? Interesting...
Jay: Why is that?
Hanna: Well you don't look sick.
Jay: Believe me, I really think that I shouldn't be at school right now.
Hanna: Ok maybe I do believe you.
Jay: So what about you? Did you break something?
Hanna: No just trying to skip fifth period.
Jason starts laughing and then they both do. Jason is called to the nursery and convinces the nurse to let him go home. He says goodbye to Hanna and says:
Jay: You should give me your number, we should hang out more you're pretty cool Hanna Thomson. See you.
Hanna: I Never told you my surname...
Jay: Well maybe I already knew.
He smiles one last time to her and walks away.
-At home-
Jay: Hey dad. What are you doing home already?
Dad: Just preparing things outside for tonight.
Jay: We don't even know if something is going to happen.
Dad: Well I feel it in my bones and I bet you do too.
Jay: Jesus dad, I'm going to have a nap, see you tonight.
Dad: See you tonight son.
Dad says this excited with a smile on his face.
-At night-
Jason opens his eyes and looks to the clock. The time is 5 minutes after ten. Jason gets up and goes downstairs, he sees his father, mother and sister all sitting on the sofa like they were waiting for him. He sits down right beside his sister, Mia.
Mom: So dad and Mia told me how you feel about turning into a werewolf.
Jay: Mom please not you too.
Mom: Jason you have to accept it. We all have.
Jay: What are you talking about? You're human. You don't understand.
Mom: Jason don't raise you're voice with me. I've lived 17 years with a werewolf I do know how it is.
Jay: But mom you don't. You haven't had every bone in you body breaking.
Mom:Jason I promise everything will be fine. And maybe even though it's not likely, it can happen that you don't turn.
Jay: Thanks mom, but even I don't believe that anymore.
Mia: Well I'm sure you're gonna love it.
Dad: Almost every man in this family had the gene, and believe me when I say it's not the worst thing ever you'll learn to live with it.
Jay: Thanks dad that's helpful-sarcastically.
The moon is rising and the knight family is all outside waiting for something to happen. Jason is shirtless and scared, looking at the moon, breathing heavily, shaking and waiting...
