Chapter 3

It's been three weeks since we started going out, and it's honestly going very well. Amazing, some people might say.

They say we're the 'lucky ones'.

When I asked, "How?" they told me, "You both are so madly in love with each other. When you're not at the pool, Austin goes crazy. All he does is look for you, and you do the exact same thing." "When you both see each other you guys have some sort of happiness in your eyes that makes you go crazy for each other, and it's amazing."

I am so lucky.

About a week ago, I had to go to my hometown to see family for six days. Bethalto, Illinois is a very wonderful place, where everyone knows everyone, and they all treat each other like family. They all know and remembered me since I moved when I was three. Yet, Bethalto can be lonely, too. At least, that's what it was for me for six days. Lonely because I had to depart from Austin. I glanced at my phone all the time and waited for a text that I would never get because he is forced to share a phone and he never gets it.

Until one day he texted me.

It turns out he stole the phone and risked getting grounded just to tell me my hair looked nice (I dyed it days before).

The day after I came home, I was forced to stay at home, so that meant I couldn't see Austin. The day after that, I searched frantically for him at the pool all day until I ran into his brother, Tony.

"Oh my gosh! Where were you yesterday?" Tony asked.

"Had to stay home." I answered.

"Austin came yesterday and looked for you. For the whole entire time. That's all he did!"

I could feel my stomach tying in knots.

"Where is he now? I've been looking all over for him all day."

"He had to work. He told me that if I saw you to tell you that he misses you, he loves you, and he'll see you soon." Tony then walked away.

Another day had passed. I was at the pool, walking back to my towel from the food court when I saw him. Finally. Trying not to look crazy, I walked up to him and gave him a huge hug. I don't think I have ever seen him that happy, nor have I ever been that happy. And for the rest of that day, we happily spent the time we had together.

This is normally how it goes at the pool, we greet each other with a hug, the longer time away from each other, the bigger the hug, and we spend the day together and live in the moment. Gosh, I love him so much, and I know he loves me too.
