A man in a red suit appeared in front of my eyes. His eyes glowed a trickster green as he fashioned an orange mustache and goatee.
"Hello my boy, you say you want the gift of eternal life?" I was lost for words, he had just suddenly appeared behind me as I had a nervous breakdown. "Well? You look quite pale there young lad." He chirped. I stumbled back and suddenly fell back into a chair that I've never seen before. "Don't be so frightened there!" He exclaimed patting my wrist.
"W-who are you?" I said faintly.
"Well who do you think youngster? I'm the devil of course! Although I prefer to go by Lucifer." He grinned. "Now I see a nice deal in for you, you see you have quite the pure soul there young fella, you've committed no sins in life and do many good deeds. We need your type of souls in Hell." I sat in the chair dumbfounded. I and many people had always jokingly fantasized that the devil wore a suit, who knew we were right.
"Why do you need souls like mine?" I asked him, gaining strength in my voice.
"Well you see young thing, we get a lot of baddies down in Hell. But how do you think our famous fires are fueled? Coals can't burn fires that last that long child."
"Do you use the good souls as fuel?"
"Of course, this is the second time I've taken a good soul in the time of the humans existence. Good souls are great fuel."
"And in exchange for my soul you offer immortality?"
"Yep!" Well, I had thought to myself, there could be no downside to this. No death and no fear of death. I couldn't even go to Hell because I'd never die.Well I regret that decision now. Right now I'm simply floating in space, waiting for something to happen. Sadly nothing out here can kill me because immortality. The sun exploded some 2007 years ago and since then I've been floating, waiting for a new planet to form or something. Who knew immortality would be this boring?
