The typing of keyboards filled the air. It was almost a harmony of keys. Tap tap tic. Tap tap tic.

A young woman sat at a desk, among many others doing the same, each separated by short walls enclosing them. Every cubicle had a large desk that was filled with tubes, vials, notebooks, and personal items. Some were organized very neatly, while others had a messy type of look. The woman sat still, her eyes never wavering from the floating screen. A knock on one of her walls startled her, and she looked up. A man with a long white lab coat stood in front of her.

"The next batch is ready." He said leaning against the cubicle, tapping his fingers to the rhythm of the typing.

"Alright. Tell Henry to get the serum ready." She answered, quickly covering what she had been watching with another website.

"Already did." The man said.

They both began walking down a long hallway to an elevator.

"You'd think that with all this high-tech stuff we're doing, we'd be able to instantly teleport by now." The man chuckled.

"You've been watching too many sci-fi movies Charley."

"Can you blame me? I mean here I am, working on some awesome stuff for future generations, and I can't at least dream a little?"

"That "awesome stuff" is what is reality. You can't go filling your head with all that teleportation nonsense."

They both laughed and continued conversation in the elevator until they reached their destination. A large room stood before them, split in half by a giant glass wall. On the other side of the glass were about 25 children. A darker skinned young man stood with his attention captured on a device he was holding.

"Henry! You alive pal?" Charley joked.

"Oh! Yes Mr. Cinder! Sorry, I didn't see you come in." Henry said nervously.

"Henry, how many times have I told you, call me Charley! And aren't you forgetting someone?"

"Oh yes, good day to you too Miss Gareen."

"Thank you Henry. Are we ready to proceed?"

"Absolutely! The children have been prepared, and are ready for injection."

"Excellent. Lets get this over with, shall we?" Miss Gareen said with a smile.

Gareen picked up several needles filled with a blueish liquid and carried them with her towards a glass doorway. The doors slid open and suddenly she was in a completely different atmosphere. There was laughter and giggles spread throughout the crowd of kids. Gareen smiled and called them to attention.

"Now, who would like to go first?" She asked. A kid in the back raised his hand and came running.

"Miss, I'd like to go furst." He said, putting on a brave face.

"And why is that young one?"

"Because my sister doesn't like to get s-sots, so I want to sow her how to be bwave."

"Well that is very kind of you. You are a great big brother. Do you know what to do?"

"Yes." The boy said, turning around and lowering his head.

Gareen sterilized her needle, and injected a quarter of the liquid into a hole in the back of the boy's skull. She repeated this several times, until every child had been shot. When she had finished, she waved goodbye to the kids and left the room.
