Okuda's P.O.V.
I held on to Karma tightly, knowing that even though he didn't remember me, even though he may have never felt the same way as me, it was still better for both of us that we weren't facing this alone.
When the gruff voice said one, the hammering in my heart seized. Actually everything did. It all seemed to go in slow motion as the loud explosion sounded. I pulled Karma down to the floor with me quickly at the last second.
When the sound finished, we were still alive. Nothing was blown up. We were still alive. And then there was the sound of erupted laughter as people came piling into the room. Our old classmates and some old people I didn't know. I sat up slowly from the floor and Karma did the same. I thought I was imagining it for one second before I saw Asano in the front of all them, staring directly at me, a grin on his face.
"I... I don't understand." The words were soft on my lips.
"Was this some joke?" Karma asked.
They continued laughing, laughing loudly, ignoring our questions. We stared at them. After a few minutes, Asano finally decided to reply. He cleared his voice loudly to hush the others, glaring at a few people who were late to shutting up. Then he returned his eyes on us.
"Welcome to the Game Show of Love Confession." He began. "Where we try to get a selected pair to admit their love for each other by making them face a tragic experience where everyone else they love disappears from their life and then make it where they feel like they're about to die! It's a stimulation we were doing to test a theory, but doesn't a game show make it sound so much more interesting?"
"He used my title!" A girl said loudly from the back, though I couldn't see who it was.
"Ah, it really does. I love the creativity of your project. This is something that's never been done before. I vote a full ten." One of the old people said, holding up a board with a ten written on it. In a matter of seconds the other old people held on their boards with tens on them, too.
"Congratulations, Asano. You've passed." The original old guy said, beaming at him.
"What about me?" Someone asked. "We worked on this project together!"
"Yes, yes. You passed too." The old guy reassured her.
"Well we better get on our way now. Don't you miss our flight out of here tomorrow now, you two." A different old person said.
"Right." Asano replied before walking them out.
Hellooo all you lovely people who are probably ready to click out of this chapter and get on to the next one, but I'd like to steal a moment of your time. As if I'm not already stealing your time ;) Well I'm not, you guys are giving it to me and I'm grateful for that. Anyways, let me get back to the point before I start to manage to find myself talking about true loves embraces because as a fan fiction writer and a poet my mind tends to go there a lot...but I wanted to say welcome to MULTIPLE CHAPTER SATURDAY!!! I am planning to have multiple chapters up today like the title suggests but I'm also planning on getting a little feedback from y'all. Yeah, I'm making this an interactive story because I'm weird. During each chapter I write today, I'm going to ask you to choose something that determines the future of this book and you can comment your answer or if you'd rather message it to me for whatever reason that it makes you more comfortable to message a stranger on the internet than to post publicly in the comments, well then by all means, go ahead. So the #1 interactive/question/future determining is "Somebody is going to get pranked. Choose a prank that you'd like to see occur, NOT a character."
