I wake up from my self-pity nap after a buzz on my phone. I scratch away the dried up tears on my face, and check to see what the notification is.

It's Natasha.

What could she possibly want from me? Hasn't she done enough already? I will NOT let her keep playing with my feelings anymore. I need to put an end to this. Come on Elise, get it together. Just tell her plain and simple: things are over between you two.

I open my phone, ready to send the "break-up" text.

3:43 pm Natasha: Please call me when you get this.

This is perfect, that way she can't say I broke up with her over text! Not that we were dating...

I dial her number and listen to the single ring before she picks up. I can hear her crying on the other end. It breaks my heart. Elise, stop feeling bad for her. She's in the wrong.

"Elise."

Hearing her say my name sends shivers down my spine.

"I am so sorry for the way I treated you this morning. I'm just so confused..."

"It's okay, I forgive you." Why did you just say that!? You don't forgive her!

"It's not okay, let me at least try to explain myself."

There's a slight pause as she gathers her thoughts.

"I was really into you at first when we started going out, but then the thing at your house happened and... I guess I just kind of freaked. I don't expect you to understand, it was shitty of me to drop you like that. Biggest mistake of my life."

"Can I asked what happened?"

"I just felt like we were going too fast... I don't usually care about that stuff but I guess my last relationship just really fucked me up and I just don't want to go down that road again... I also don't want you to see what said road left on my body..."

"I understand."

"I guess I just realized that I hated not having you in my life anymore, even though we've only known each other for like two seconds. You've left such an impact on me, Elise."

"I haven't been able to get you off my mind." I can't help but vomit words. Tears begin forming in my eyes.

"Neither can I." Her voice breaks a little. "I can't stop thinking about last night. I told myself I was going to get you back into my life but we would start off slow, I'd get you to be my friend first and then try to move up from there. But then that happened... And I want it to happen again..." She just barely whispers that last part.

"I want it to happen again too." I bite my lip and squeeze my thighs together. I want her in my arms, right this second. It's killing me that she's not next to me right now, that I can't just grab her and hug her and kiss her all over.

"It just goes so against what I've been telling myself... But I really don't hate it at all. It's exciting."

"Come over." I can't take it anymore. I need her here right here, right now. Wow Elise, you've never been this forward with anyone before.
