Chapter Twenty-Two
Something was coming, I could feel it as the Atlantic breeze rippled through my messy blonde hair as I leaned against the railings. The sea was calm but you could smell it in the air, there was a foul stanch that only I could smell.
“Cain,” a bubbly voice echoed in the ears as I frowned.
“What,” I muttered turning to the cheery face in front of me. Her smile faulted as she looked at the scowl on my rugged face.
“Err,” Ellen shook her head. She was one of those “beach babes” the ones that walked the sidewalks in a bikini tops and shorts with sun kissed skin and wavy, long hair.
“Hey man,” Nick slapped me on the back his mop of honey hair rippling in the breeze. “Lets hit the waves,” he chuckled.
“Yeah coming,” I sighed.
“You coming, Ellen?” Nick grinned as she flipped her chest nut hair over one shoulder, sometimes flashing gold in the sun light.
She batted her thick eyelashes. “Yeah,” she gave a suggestive smile.
I rolled my eyes still feeling weird but the sea always calmed me down ever since I was a little boy. I sighed as I followed the flirting couple to the water’s edge, the sound of the water soothing once but now it did nothing. I could shake it not even as I surfured.
“Hey Cain,” Nick caught up with me. “What’s up?” concern lacing his words as his pale blue eyes bored into mine.
“I don’t know,” I frowned feeling suddenly dizzy.
“Hey Cain,” Nick grabbed my tanned arms as I clutched my aching head.
I moaned suddenly feeling sick as bile raised in my throat. “I don’t feel right,” I muttered feeling myself sway.
“Oh God Cain,” Ellen’s voice sounded near me but I couldn’t open my eyes. My head was spinning and my head felt like it was on fire. I fell to my knees gasping for breath. What was happening?
I couldn’t keep the agonizing scream in any longer as I screamed out in pain. My body was ignites in pain as I shook.
“God my god,” I could hear Ellen crying. “Nick, is he gonna die?” I heard her whisper. I felt like I was and I hadn’t done everything on my bucket list.
Cain a voice whispered in my head. The voice was light and airy but I couldn’t listen as I screamed out again. Listen Cain. They commandedas I withered in pain in the golden sand my friends surrounding me. You are meant for something special and you must find it. Find Cinder.
But how? I Cried in pain as I heard the sirens.
“It’s okay Cain,” Nick said in my ear. “Help in coming,” I could feel his cool hand angaist my shoulder.
Find Cinder the voice faded as did the pain.
The sound of footsteps meant my ears “Hey mate,” a new voice said. “I’m here to help, can you open your eyes for me?” the kind voice asked.
I did as the asked and opened my eyes; I was met with shocked and scared face.
Someone gasped. “Oh my god,” someone shouted.
“What’s wrong with his eyes?” Ellen cried out clutching onto Nick who also looked shocked.
I frowned. “What?” I muttered still feeling weak.
“Its okay mate,” the paramedic reassured but I caught him threw a look at his partner. “Where’s the pain?”
“It’s gone,” I muttered sitting up he tried to stop me but I pushed him back. I needed to get out of here. “Just leave me alone,” I stood up stumbling away from the scene. Needed to find her.
“Hey Cain,” Nick shouted but didn’t follow. I could sense their fear, all of them and though I couldn’t understand why I didn’t want to be around them, I needed to find her.
I stumbled along to my dirt covered truck falling on the hot metal to shove my key in the door that’s when I caught my reflection.
I gasped my eyes.
“What the...” I muttered touching my face. My eyes were jet black with glowing ocean blue veins surrounding the pupil; it looked like a glowing blue ring of fire. I shivered ripping open my truck door and throwing myself in. I needed to get out of here.
“Find Cinder,” I muttered to myself reversing out of the beach parking lot. I didn’t know how but I knew where I would find this Cinder. I knew that I would find answer from her and I knew that it was fate that I was meant to find her.
Her face was glowing in my mind, her onyx eyes flickering to ruby red like the flickering of flames in an open fire was ingrained into my head. She was my fate and I needed to find her and fast.

MUST READ!!!!!!!
So my lovely readers did you like this chapter? Sorry it was short but I think this one needed to be and also I have a little bit of writers block on this story right now! Eek!!
Right now down to the reason you SHOULD read this!! I was thinking of doing a side story/ stand alone story that is linked to this story. I was thinking about do a short story about the Unmated Ball, a romantic/werewolf story that won’t link to anything to do with the elements or magic just a simple werewolf story but without the whole fate and soul mate thing. What do you think?
Anyway who do you think Cain is? And why is he trying to find a girl called Cinder? Who do you think Cinder is?
