The sound of the door opening makes me lift up my head to find Neo peeking in.
"Lelz, it's lunchtime. Will you be joining us? Rose is already waiting for us downstairs."
Ohh no, I completely forgot to tell them that I won't be able to join them today. Time really runs by when one is really busy and at A&R Pharmaceutics we're busy everyday.
"Hey Neo, I'm afraid that you two will have to go on without me. I already made plans with a friend, I meant to let you both know but it completely slipped my mind." Neo looks at me suspiciously but luckily doesn't pry any further.
"Ohh okay, enjoy then. I guess I'll see you later." She smiles and waves goodbye to me.
"Yes, see you later."
For the last four months Alex and I have been meeting regularly and having lunch together once or twice every week, with the occasional dinner thrown in. Only Danny knows about my not quite relationship with Alex and that's what I want for the time being.
We've just been getting to know each other a bit better and I have to say, he's far from the no good serial heartbreaker I thought he was. I found out that he's a University of Cape Town Alumni which is the best university in Africa. He has two siblings who are both younger than him that he obviously loves even though he swears that they drive him crazy with their shenanigans.
He's also got a very close relationship with his parents which I find endearing considering I always had to force my ex to check up on his parents to ensure that they were doing well. Although Alexander likes to complain about his mother's unending requests that he settles down and give her grandchildren, it's clear that he adores her.
He has a lovely dog named Harvey whom I met on a particular sunday when I came to his house for dinner.

On top of all his wonderful qualities, Alexander is actually a great cook. Speaking of his house, it's actually more accurate to call it a mansion. It's so big and so grand that the first time I went there I could barely close my mouth due to being awe struck... It's a double storey house that's mostly made of glass and is located a small distance from Clifton beach.
