Chapter 18

Lelo

I wake up with the urgent need to pee but I'm unable to move because I opened my eyes only to find that Danny is draped all over me, like all times when we sleep in the same bed. I check the clock mounted on my bedroom wall, 5h50 a.m. It's only ten minutes before my alarm goes off anyway so I might as well get out of bed right now.

I try to turn my head to look at the man softly snoring on top of me. He's laid on his stomach with his head buried in my neck, his heavy arm has me pinned to the bed and his leg is on top of my own. All in all I'm trapped under his colossal weight.

I try to wiggle free, without much success to be honest.

"Danny! Danny!" I shake his shoulder, in an effort to wake him up but all he does is groan and burrow his head deeper into my neck.

I sigh, I try to push him off but he just won't budge. An amazing idea comes to me at just that moment. How many times has Danny played childish pranks on me and I haven't retaliated?

I doubt that I'll get a chance like this anytime soon. Seeing as I'm somewhat trapped and can't go anywhere, I don't have many options.

Tapping my fore finger on my chin, I think about how I can make him pay. Okay I know what to do. I can't wipe the grin off my face as I place my lips directly next to his ear and let out an ear splitting scream.

He jolts up and scrunches his eyebrows frantically looking around for the source of his sleep disturbance. Unsatisfied with the end result of my mini prank I push him off the bed and he desperately tries to hold on to the blankets but they slip through his fingers and he ends up sprawled out on the floor.

"Ugh, what the hell Lelo? Why the fuck did you do that for?" He says not making any move to get up from the floor. I don't answer him but instead get up and run towards the bathroom door, desperate to relieve my bladder.

My mom barges into my room just as I walk out of the bathroom, "what happened kids? I heard screaming, are you both alright?"

She says tying up her robe and she squints as she takes in the scene in front of her. First looking at Danny who's sitting on the floor who's busy spearing me with his killer glare and me smirking at him gleefully.

"Why don't you ask Lelo mommy? She's the one screaming her lungs out so early in the morning."

My mother turns towards me and looks expectantly, clearly waiting for an answer. I shuffle my feet uncomfortably but remain quiet. She raises her eyebrows and folds her arms as she alternates between looking at us both.

"Lelo and Danny, was this one of you two's dumb pranks again?" Mom says narrowing her eyes and looking reproachfully at us both.

The silence that greets her is answer enough for her.

"I can't believe that you both woke me up so early because of your nonsense? Don't you both think that it's time that you started acting your age? Am I dealing with a pair of toddlers or what? I am NOT doing this again, sort this out yourselves."

With that she storms off towards her room, leaving Danny and I glaring at each other.

"I can't believe that you could be so evil Lelo Dube, how could you do that to me?"

Danny says placing his hand over his heart, faking hurt. He climbs back into bed and switching off my alarm which starts blasting off next to him.

"Me, evil? No babe, that was payback for all the times you've tormented me. Karma is a bitch isn't it?"

"Whatevs, just know that I'm disowning you as of today. You're no longer my sister friend."

He says dramatically as he gets up and passes by me, going inside my closet. "You know that you'd never do that, you love me to death and I'm the only person who can handle your craziness for an unlimited time. I wish I could say sorry for the early morning prank Danny boy but then I'd be lying. I'll just follow in your footsteps and take you out for lunch later this week."
