Audrey and Aryella's betrayal

Aryella Awakes, From A Long Sleep...

Today I woke up in my room, the blue stained glass walls made blue streaks in the water. My vision was so blurry I could only make out 5 silhouettes staring down at me. After a while, my vision got clearer and clearer, I could see that there were three nurses, Mom, and Dad in full snorkel gear.

"Thank goodness!" Dad breathed.

"How long have I been asleep?" I

"A year honey, if it were not for your heavy breathing we would have thought you were a goner." Mom answered, "We thought you might sleep through the big day."

"What big day?" I asked puzzled.

"Your coronation dear, the entire kingdom has been gossiping about it for months." one of the nurses- Lizzie- answered.

I guess I should have been surprised by the news but I asked something else entirely, "Where's Audrey?"

All 5 of them glanced at each other, which meant they had some bad news and they were trying to figure out who was going to tell me.

Finally, Mom said, "Lizzie, could you, Annalise, and Bell give us a minute?"

"Of course." Lizzie said as she swam away from the bed and toward the door.

"What happened?" I asked worried.

Dad touched my tail while Mom said, "Honey, there was an accident..."

"What type of accident?"

That's when Mom explained showing me the scar running down the inside of her arm, that's when my eyes started welling up.

When she was finished she said, "We'll give you some time to soak it up, we know it's hard to process." Then she and Dad left the room leaving Audrey's iPod, her most treasured item.

I didn't sleep good that night, in fact, I didn't sleep at all. WOW! I am TIRED!!! –Aryella
