Armortentia (Wolfstar) [COMPLETED]

Chapter 6

The next day, we were sat in potions with Professor Slughorn. We all shared a potions class, which was something we all appreciated because we didn't have many classes where we were all together.

"Today, we are going to be brewing Amortentia," he began, "does anyone know what that is?"

A girl from Ravenclaw raised her hand, "It's a love potion, sir. It smells like whatever you love most."

"Correct! Now get into pairs and get the ingredients you need. Page 294 of your books."

Me and Sirius pared up and so did James and Peter. We got our things and headed over to a vacant table. Me and Sirius worked on one side and James and Peter were on the other. We began brewing the potion. It wasn't that challenging, really. And eventually, we'd gotten it.

I almost had a heart attack when I smelled it, dog fur. No way, that meant- that meant I loved Sirius. Because, it wasn't just any dog fur, it was specifically his. I heard Professor Slughorn asking people heat their potion smelled like. As the end of the lesson neared, I thought he wouldn't ask me. However, just before the lesson ended, he approached our table.

"Potter, what does your potion smell like?"

"A flower."

"I wonder which one," Sirius said sarcastically; it was obviously a Lily.

"What about you Lupin? What does yours smell like?" Slughorn asked me.

"Dog fur," I said quietly hoping Sirius didn't hear me.

However, I knew he did, because his head shot up as soon as I said it. I looked anywhere but him, scared of his reaction.

"Okay! Class dismissed!" Slughorn announced.

I grabbed my things and ran from the classroom as fast as I could. I couldn't be around Sirius right now; he knew I smelled dog fur. Why did I have to smell dog fur? Obviously, it was because I loved him. But, he didn't love me. I don't know what his potion smelled like, but it definitely wasn't anything to do with me. When I got back to our dorm I went straight to sleep; I didn't want to face the others.
